Hands down best trip I’ve ever been on in Mexico. The food, the kindness of the hospitality staff, setting, included experiences, truly EVERYTHING was incredible . A unique and relaxing experience in a fabulous part of Cabo, I will absolutely be returning.

Wow. What a beautiful property. I celebrated my 35th birthday and the staff was absolutely fantastic and efficient at handling logistics from airport pick up, car service into town and making reservations. The hotel experiences were amazing as well. My friends and I loved the sunset beach set up which included a nice bottle of wine. I was quite sad to check-out but grateful that I left this vacation feeling super relaxed.

Pastoral views & peaceful vibes. This is an architecturally stunning property that offers a really calm atmosphere perfect for unwinding. The pool is an absolute stunner and the gardens/grounds really lovely. I wasn't sure about the Brutalist architecture, but set within a desert context it somehow made sense, feeling somehow cozy instead of cold or harsh. There are lovely sightlines and architectural details to enjoy around every corner. There were some minor language barrier issues a few times, and much of the staff does not speak english, but overall it wasn't a big problem. Slippers in the room would've been nice, especially considering you have to go outside in very cool temps at night to reach the bathroom. I was really glad I had packed my own! The bed was very comfortable. I found that the cleaning supplies smelled very strong and gave me a headache. I re-mopped the floors with wet towels and asked that no more be sprayed in my room during my stay, and left the doors open each day to air things out, but switching to less toxic & fragranced cleaning supplies & detergent would be a worthwhile change. I did also have some minor security concerns, especially if you are a woman traveling alone consider booking an upper floor room. The bedroom doors do not have locks and are fairly exposed to adjacent farmland. After not sleeping well due to unease over this the first night, I asked for a transfer to an upper floor room which offered more privacy and security- luckily there was a room available. Though there are cameras everywhere, there are no security guards other than one stationed at the front gate quite a ways away, and no door locks on the bedroom doors. There is a flimsy wire fence (pictured), which protects the integrity of the views, but does nothing to engender a sense of security. After moving to an upper floor room I witnessed a man in the nearby fields looking intently into a lower room complex which made me very glad I had moved rooms. I spoke to two other women solo travelers who were also a bit on edge about the lack of door locks on the bedroom and who also witnessed farm workers from the nearby poblano fields peering into the rooms. The hotel could also use better signage from the main highway (like San Cristobal has)- it's very difficult to find the turnoff if you are driving yourself. I took part in 3 included experiences, the first being guided breathwork, which I enjoyed. I also took the cooking class- while I enjoyed myself and the food, I would've been disappointed had this been a paid experience. The instructor could not speak much english, and I don't speak much spanish, so it made for very difficult communication. We made guacamole, then the chef prepared an oyster dish (I am allergic, so can't speak to the taste), and an octopus taco, which was fabulous- he also let us smell or taste various components of the dish. I really enjoyed the beach sunset experience! There are individual set ups in the sand with cushions and a table where they serve you salted nuts, water and wine. The set up is lovely and feels really special. The wine was meh, though I don't come to Mexico for the wine- I think offering margarita + chips and guac would've been a more enjoyable option for F&B, but overall it was lovely. I booked a massage with Roberto, who was great. Though I booked deep tissue, I received a hot stone massage- which was excellent, so I rolled with it. The massage set up is lovely, with an herbal aromatherapy foot wash to start, and a singing bowl to end the treatment, followed by cinnamon tea and salted nuts in a delightful little meditation zone set amidst lush palms and foliage on a small island. It would've been a lovely spot to linger in that post massage fugue state, but I was asked to leave after just a few (5?) minutes. However lovely, I thought the treatment was overpriced considering there are zero facilities- no bathroom, no sauna, no plunge pools (which are nearby, but were never filled for guest use). They either need to reevaluate the price point to reflect the lack of facilities, or add commensurate facilities to match the price point, which would've been really nice. Unfortunately the hot tub at the pool was not heated during my stay. There were a number of service missteps and timing issues at Tenoch that negatively affected my overall dining experience. However, the soft shell crab taco and the ceviche were really impressive. Breakfast was lovely- especially the avocado toast on sourdough sourced from nearby Agricole. Cesar is amazing and definitely stood out on the service front. I booked a taxi through the hotel to take me to nearby (less than 2 miles) Agricole, and was a bit shocked to have been charged $37/ea way. That felt like a rip off, but I suppose my fault for not asking how much it would be beforehand. You should absolutely go to nearby Agricole which is a farmers cooperative grocery store/bakery/coffeeshop and adjacent restaurant set amidst the most amazing garden. 5 Mins from Paradero. You should also definitely eat at local favorite Carnitas Miguel- a casual, no frills spot for inexpensive and excellent tacos under a thatched roof in Pescadero. Less than 10 mins from Paradero. Overall, despite the hiccups, I would stay here again (in an upper room only). If you go ready to relax and unwind and enjoy the architecture and peaceful vibes and read by the stunning pool then you will enjoy yourself. There is certainly room for improvement, but it is a stunning and peaceful “reset” with excellent proximity to great restaurants, hikes, activities, and beaches.

Most peaceful stay I’ve had in awhile. So quiet, and serene. I loved my room against the poblano field with ocean views. Had the best sleep! The property is stunning and it truly feels like a desert oasis. My favorite part of my stay was just spending time in my room and enjoying the peace and quiet.
