The Strings by InterContinental Tokyo earns consistent accolades as Japan’s top hotel, and from a room on one of its top floors, it’s easy to survey the competition. Tokyo’s skyline envelops the hotel, adding a glamorous backdrop to interiors designed with simplicity and traditional Japanese aesthetics. Meals under the glass bridge in the atrium are an elegant affair, but The Strings’s central location means delectable local eats are close at hand. Try scouting a cozy izakaya near the Tsukiji Fish Market – it’s the largest seafood market in the world, and there are scores of ultra-fresh sushi joints nearby.

We enjoyed our stay at the Strings. The main benefit is its location being metres away from Shinagawa station. The room was comfortable & the Byredo amenities are lovely. We paid for the buffet breakfast & only went there for one breakfast as the offerings were average at best. If you’re on the fence about including breakfast in my opinion it’s not worth the extra $$. I emailed concierge before our stay asking for restaurant recommendations. They replied promptly but when I asked them to book a particular restaurant I didn’t hear back from them. I didn’t bother following up with them as I expect a 5 star hotel to be on top of this sort of service. We’re back at the Strings for a few nights at the end of our trip & hope our next stay is also good.

I frequent this hotel about 2 - 3 times per month for work. I am not sure which I loon forward to more, the friendly, helpful staff who offers the warmest greetings and helpful information or the clean, updated and quiet rooms. I always look forward to my stays st the Strings hotel.

This is probably one of the nicest 5 star hotels in Tokyo. It’s convenient yet secluded. Its decor exudes an air of luxury and calm. Love the atmosphere and yet friendly staff. Had dinner at Kazane and the food was amazing. The executive lounge was also beautiful with panoramic views of Shinagawa.

We love this hotel very much. it close to a major train station and have many restaurants around. room are big, beds are comfortable. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. It is one of the best hotels I want to visit again and recommend to everyone. Tip: store your luggage at front desk after checking out, you can go sightseeing, and comeback to catch the last Shinkansen of the day.

The service in this hotel was great and staff were always happy to help. The rooms were clean and a good size compared to the average room size of hotels in Tokyo. Great views of the city from the room as well. Breakfast was of good quality and staff were very accommodating to my dietary requirements. The hotel is conveniently located close to Shinagawa station which was extremely useful when travelling around Tokyo with the metro and also catching the Shinkansen bullet trains.
