Unmatched Hospitality at Bisha Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We came from New York for a long weekend in Toronto. Our stay at the Bisha hotel was an integral part of what made our trip so amazing. The staff was professional and kind, ready to accommodate in any way. Doris, Sammy, and the young gentleman in the glasses at the front desk were all fantastic. The atmosphere is unlike any hotel we’ve been. The scent of the lobby, the decor, every detail is accounted for. The French Made cafe is a must. We valeted our rental car and it was kept safe in the best hands. When we find ourselves in Toronto again, we will be staying at the Bisha every single time.

Bisha Hotel/Jonathan Twigg

Highly recommend Bisha Hotel if you’re visiting Toronto. Best service, best ambiance, best amenities, best staff. Best everything !!! Jonathan Twigg always takes care of me when I go there and he never ever disappoints. I’ve been dealing with him for years now and do all my bookings directly with him. Jon and his staff always give me the best hotel experience I can possibly have. Thanks and Cheers 🥂

DO NOT RECOMMEND - Check out Revery down the street instead

I was very excited to stay at Bisha Hotel, but I will not be going back. The concierge attendant (Mark) greeted us as we arrived and offered to carry our bags. He was incredibly pleasant and kind, and quickly became the only friendly employee that I interacted with. The moment I stepped inside, things changed. The small lobby area itself was nice, but the front desk staff was not. The woman who checked me in- Doris- was very rude and arrogant. I have been a Lifetime Titanium Elite Marriott member for 10+ years and have never experienced such treatment. First, I booked the room with my 35K Free Night Award, and she still tried to make me pay full price for the room. I politely explained to her how the award works, and she still insisted I was wrong. She also claimed she could not accept my credit card. Eventually, she admitted I was right and that I did use my Free Night Award to book the room, and I was only charged for the incidental. There was also no mention of my Titanium Elite benefits- no welcome gift, no room upgrade, and no acknowledgement. The complete disregard for the status of a long-time and returning Marriott customer was disappointing to say the least. She also failed to inform me of any parking information, even though I clearly stated that I would be parking my vehicle when their valet overnight. The room itself was nice- interesting decor and relatively spacious. However, I found several bugs crawling around in the room, including on the bed. This raised a very serious cleanliness concern. This was also the first hotel room I have EVER stayed in that did not have a deadbolt. The lack of a proper lock was very concerning, as it’s a basic safety feature found in nearly all hotels. Upon checkout, I asked for my luggage to be brought out from storage and for my car to be brought up. I ran to the bathroom while waiting for them, and came back to find Doris placing my luggage in my vehicle without my consent. I even noticed her rummage through one of my bags to remove my water bottle. Regardless of the intent of her actions, hotel staff should NEVER handle or search a guest’s belongings without permission. I truly had high hopes for this hotel, but unfortunately, one issue after another made the stay an utter disappointment. I do not recommend this hotel. If you’re looking for another similar hotel in the area, I recommend the Revery Toronto hotel down the street- much friendlier staff and more positive experience.

First Impressions Made Lasting Impressions - The Bisha Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

My fiancee and I arrived at the Bisha Hotel and learned that it had only joined Marriott Hotels a mere eight days earlier. I wouldn't have known had I not been told by Maria who greeted us at the front desk. I have stayed at many Marriott hotels in several countries while on business travel, including Marriott Luxury Collection Hotels, and The Bisha Hotel is indeed worthy of the Luxury Collection moniker. The hotel is located in a fantastic location adjacent the CN tower in the heart of the entertainment district, making it an ideal base for attending shows downtown. Despite arriving early we were checked in immediately and given a room upgrade. By the time we were done at the desk our bags had been unloaded from our vehicle by Mark, were on the way up to our room, and our vehicle was being parked. The professionalism and demeanor of Maria, Mark, the front office manager Jacob, the servers at KOST on the 44th floor (fantastic breakfast options & stunning view), the servers at the lobby bar (Ladies try a Dragon’s Whisper), the cleaning lady I met in the hallway, and quite literally every employee we encountered, were friendly, knowledgeable beyond the domain of their immediate role, and frankly, seemed genuinely delighted to speak with us or help to improve our stay in any way possibly. The service was, in a word, astounding. If you remain unconvinced, read on. The second night of our stay we had dinner reservations at Akira Back which is attached to the hotel. I called the front desk to confirm the location so we weren't late for dinner and the line was busy. I didn't care to leave a message and figured we would just ask at the from desk on our way there. I hadn't even put on my shoes and someone called the room back and answered my question. Simple as this may seem, in my experience concerned call backs to guest hang-ups is atypical even at high end hotels. Regarding the Akira Back restaurant itself, the first thing to know is that the restaurant is accessed from outside, but only a mere 10 feet from the hotel entrance. So a jacket is optional if you are headed back to your room after your meal. Exceptionalism points for Bisha would be to create direct indoor restaurant access for guests with a reservation, perhaps via one's room card having time enabled access into the restaurant via the service elevator. (Don't ask how I know that might be possible :) Suffice it to say, the staff at Akira Back restaurant also go above and beyond to exceed all expectations. Our waiter had clearly eaten his way through the menu and made some solid recommendations. The manager who's name sadly escapes me, paid us a visit as we finished our dessert to ask about our meal, what we enjoyed most, what brought us to the restaurant, and to Toronto in general. Again, as with Bisha staff, his inquiry seemed to emanate from a sincere interest in our culinary experience and origin story more broadly. As for the food, it was superlative. If you are a foodie who enjoys Japanese and Korean fare, then you are in good hands here as the food is indeed of Michelin Star quality. We highly recommend the chef's surprise and the chocolate in a cup dessert, which sounds and looks rather simple, at least until you dig into it. For those wisely skeptical of rave online culinary reviews, I bestow the praise above in contrast to the highest of possible baselines. A mere ten days prior I dined at the two Michelin Starred Claude Bosi in London England. I'm not saying that Akira Back is equivalent to Claude Bosi, rather, that my expectations were extraordinarily high at the time we dined at Akira Back. Nevertheless, neither I nor my fiancee were disappointed. (As an aside for foodies - Claude Bosi set a nearly impossible bar to meet. If you're in London, I suggest the Chefs Signature Tasting Menu with the equally impressive wine pairing. Zero. Regrets. Seriously. The architecture, decore, and history of the building, of which the staff are well versed, is an added bonus to the experience.) The only regret we have regarding the Bisha Hotel, is that we were unable to enjoy the rooftop pool and patio connected to KOST because it's still winter. No matter; We shall return! I could go on and provide further examples of the many small details that made our short stay at Bisha Toronto exceptional, but why not just go experience it for yourself?

Will you BISHA ... my Valentine!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Our Valentine's Day started out in spectacular form when the door to our suite was opened displaying rose petals everywhere. There were balloons spelling out "LOVE," red & white balloons in the soaking tub, fresh rose petals shaped in a heart on the bed, and red, pink & white rose petals throughout the suite including the bathroom. There were several other amenities that were VIP specialties. Our suite had a view of Blue Jays Way and King St. intersection which allowed us to see a lot happening on the street throughout the snow and cold. Our suite was—what can I say but—beautiful! This hotel offers a truly luxuriously rewarding stay. The rooftop (44th fl) Kost restaurant has one of the best views in Toronto. You can see for miles all over the city. Not only is the view to be desired but the menu is well thought out and the service is impeccable. Speaking of impeccable service (thanks Chris & Alex), on multiple nights we had dinner at Akira Back (the lamb chops and scallops are to die for); hung out in Mister C. Bar Room which is exquisitely decorated in shades of black. If you've stayed at the Bisha Hotel and haven't visited Mister C.'s lounge, you should do so the next time you are there. Mister C. has a wonderful bar food menu and a nice selection of specialty cocktails--wonderful! Lastly, we enjoyed some of the best coffee and croissants on the days we didn't have a full breakfast at French Made cafe next door. The Bisha Hotel staff did everything they could to make us comfortable as we had to unexpectedly extend our trip an additional two days. Everyone was so accommodating as we patiently awaited our new departure date. Thank you. Special thanks to Lobby Gentlemen, Sami and Marc, who are awesome and always willing to assist guests. Much love to Maria at the front desk and Erica in housekeeping because they take such good care of our needs. We received delightful service from Shaila, Doris and Sarah at the front desk and Rita in housekeeping. I wish I could name all who were so kind and helpful to us throughout our stay; yet I will "thank" Jonathan and Jacob as our go-to professionals in management. Bisha Hotel has become my favorite residence in Toronto; will be going back for a third stay within six months.
