What a 5 Star Hotel Should Be

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

We stay in hotels all around the world and the four seasons Toronto is truly what a 5 star hotel should be. Fantastic quality finishings and furniture in the rooms, great bed, luxe bathroom and high quality mini bar and snacks. Staff are great, housekeeping perfect and the in hotel D bar is fantastic. The Yorkville location is perfect for shopping as well.

Outstanding three nights

Booked with Centurion and their FHR programme. Lovely warm friendly welcome at check in and given a super upgrade. The suite was extremely spacious , recently refurbished, spotless and very very comfortable. The staff are exceptionally friendly, helpful and thoroughly professional . Spa and pool are excellent. Overall a really enjoyable stay and wish I had stayed longer than the three days.

Fantastic!

Wonderful hotel with fantastic staff. Loved our room! Coziest place to stay during the snowstorm~ we didn't want to leave! Did not have a chance to check out the spa and the pool was swarming with little kids but they had specific hours for children, so that helped. (and again, snow storm on "family weekend") Staff members that we encountered at every turn were wonderful. Gabe was our phenomenal server for a delicious Valentine's dinner and he more than made up for a random woman who came by to alert us of a 1.5hr time limit at our table? Don't miss breakfast! ...and be sure to reach out to the concierge who helped us put together a fun itinerary prior to arrival. Highly recommend!

I would recommend this hotel 100 times, everything about the hotel was perfect. The staff was excellent, they provided my family and I with the highest level of customer service. The food at the car and the restaurant was delicious and the amenities of the hotel were impeccable. Thank you to the entire for seasons team, you guys made our vacation one to remember.

5-star hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

A great 5-star luxury hotel experience. I stayed for one night and it was a lovely stay and I enjoyed myself. I have some nitpicky cons, only because the place is so expensive, but they didn't detract from my stay. Pros: Room was spacious, well appointed and clean. In-room amenities were great (Fellow kettle was a nice touch). Technology was responsive and didn't lag, a problem I find in hotels that try to integrate smart tech. The room service guys were all very friendly and great. One even came back with complimentary Madeleines. Cons: Bathroom toiletries are by Frederic Malle, which is a high end French parfumeurie, of which I'm not a fan. The scent of the soaps are a bit too...strong nightclub cologne...if you know what I mean. Room service food is average. I ordered pretty basic meals (burger, fries, and dessert for dinner and breakfast) and they were as I expected them to be. Completely serviceable. The Viennoisserie basket on the breakfast menu was probably the best part, you can choose which pastries you'd like (the croissant and kouign-amann were great). The toast that came with my breakfast was mimsy and burnt. I think the Four Seasons can source a better white bread than whatever Depression bread it is they're serving. The chat service. First of all, there were technical difficulties with the in-room device (messages would not send) so I ended up using WhatsApp. Secondly, I was not pleased with the customer service on the other end of my chat. I inquired about complimentary car service during my stay and after a lengthy back-and-forth (according to my time stamps, it spanned 40 minutes) regarding the details and limitations, I asked about a drop off and their reply was that the car service was not available that day. Which is fine, I just wish they had said that at the beginning and I wouldn't have wasted my time. And lastly, the valet guys were all very nice and attentive when I arrived but the morning of check-out, I was waiting for my car for over 20 minutes. About 10 minutes into my wait, I was wondering what was taking so long despite being able to see my car in the parking area out front, but then the Jonas Brothers and their entourage showed up and I figured out why I was put on the backburner. Their bus arrived first, I waited a bit longer until finally a valet came and asked me if I needed a car. Turns out, the man at the front desk who checked me out didn't bother to send the car notification.
