Overall this hotel is ok. Overpriced for the level and quality of customer service. They seem incapable of providing any meaningful client service. I was in Toronto for one night to attend the Nutcracker ballet. I experienced a medical situation that resulted in me being taken to hospital during the performance. Upon returning to the hotel at 4am I explained what happened and asked if we could come to some agreement on the room rate. The manager would only offer a late check out that I could not use and a free coffee or tea. For the price point of this hotel, I expect more concern and compassion from staff and a bit more customer accommodation. Even a credit for a future stay would have been appropriate.

This was my first experience staying at a 5-star hotel and it exceeded my expectations. From the outside the hotel doesn’t look like much but that’s how all the surrounding hotels and buildings look, very industrial and gray. When we drove into the hotel’s entrance we were greeted by the valet staff. They were very friendly and informative and directed us to check-in. When we entered the hotel the aesthetics was giving luxury. The check-in staff was welcoming and friendly and the overall process was smooth and quick without feeling rushed. When we got up to our room, it was a double queen, and oh my gosh. It was an elevated double queen room for sure. The cherry on top was that we got a corner room and the view was amazing with the large windows. The bathroom was large with a double sink, jacuzzi like tub, stand up shower and privacy toilet. It was perfect for a girls trip where you have a large space to get ready and doll up. And the amenities: 24 hr fitness center, pool, hot tub, sauna with changing locker rooms was top notch. The staff there was also so friendly and kind. For a 5-star hotel, I was pleasantly surprised how down-to-earth all the staff I encountered were. The complimentary hot-chocolate bar staff in the lounge and the staff in the bakery/coffee shop were also so kind and friendly. If you are looking for a comfortable, luxury stay in downtown TO, Shangri-La is it.

Had a wonderful time at the Shangr-La Toronto. Great service, nice location and a beautiful spa. Check in was easy, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel has an Italian restaurant called Bosk which was good as well. Would highly recommend it!

A beautiful hotel with a superb staff. The front desk and doormen-bellmen were has expected at a 5 star deluxe property. The suite was beautiful with the right amount of technology and amenities such as heated bathroom floors etc. The bathrooms were 5 star also. Overall a lovely deluxe property at not unreasonable prices. Room service was not unreasonable a well done. Actually wish Shanghai la had more North American properties.

It's as if they anticipate your needs before you arrive. It's always so welcoming and they really make you feel right at home. The atmosphere is always fantastic. From the performances in the lounge to the little touches in the rooms, Shangri-La Toronto is easily one of the best hotels in Toronto, if not the best.
