Lodge is beautiful, property is extraordinary. The food is fabulous - be sure to try the amazing soups. We were there in the middle of an exceptionally heavy rainy season (and it rains a LOT even in ordinary circumstances) and the hotel and guides were unbelievably ingenious In finding sights, animals, birds we could see despite the rain. The warm hospitality of the staff at Tortuga Lodge made our 3-day stay truly special. From the knowledgeable tour guides to the friendly restaurant staff Michael, Gabriella, Enrique, plus everyone else went above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience in this beautiful Costa Rican gem. The delicious meals at the on-site restaurant were a highlight of our stay--one amazing chef! Our tour guides, Juan and Manuel, were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the local wildlife. Thank you to everyone at Tortuga Lodge!

This is one of the loveliest hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. It is quiet and ideal for those who want to be surrounded by peace and wildlife. The food is beautiful and the staff are friendly and make every moment feel special. Everyone was so kind but we would love to mention Luis, Michael, Andy, Gabriela and Martina who were patient and encouraging when we tried out our terrible Spanish on them! For us, the hotel offered the perfect balance of nature related activity and relaxation. We are already planning to return!

Just the journey to Tortuguero is exciting, you either need to fly in on a small plane or arrive by boat. We felt very well looked after at every point of our stay, the staff were lovely. Lots of trip options, all worth going on. It rained quite a lot and we were out of turtle season but the wildlife did not disappoint. What a privilege to see it all. The food was excellent and the rooms lovely with a view over the water and in our case, a toucan perched directly outside.

In the middle of the tropical forest beautiflul and relaxed hotel, good service, nice pool, good food in a pleasent restaurant, rooms big and with view to river. There is an airport for little planes directly at the opposite, you don‘t hear, but perhaps a good choice to go there. We came by boat, which was also good.
