Hotel Domestique

It might be a beautiful building and setting, but the staff here have NO idea of customer service. We went a little after Covid and were pretty shocked by the fact that the room we were given wasn't clean, had no towels, restaurant service was incredibly slow and unfriendly, and to top it off they insisted on charging us for a meat burger despite saying we were vegetarians. When we completed the survey explaining these issues, we were very kindly and **without asking** comped two nights stay. It worked--we felt much better about trying again. We just now tried to use it and were treated by a new manager like we were scammers.

Wanted to stay here for a while. Some real positives and real negatives. Pros: Staff is fantastic. Front desk, housekeeping, restaurant, everybody. Welcoming and helpful. 5 stars. Location is great for cycling. 5 stars Restaurant is very good. Included breakfast is great. 4 stars Pet friendly. Lots of green space for Fido to roam and relieve. Hotel provides a bed (it appeared new, at least really clean!) My dog loved it. Also bowls. 5 stars Cons: Location. 20+ minutes to anything. Greenville 30+ minutes. 2 stars Amenities are mediocre at best. The gym is lackluster and small. Odd given the owner being ex-pro cyclist. Pool not heated until April or May. Hot tub is hot but not bubbly. 2 stars Room was wonky. Despite being the best room, it lacked a dresser. Only closet space for hanging clothes. No water glasses. Shower had low pressure It would stop and then come back on cold before becoming hot again. Reminded me of growing up when my brother would flush the toilet while I was showering- it cut the hot water. Bed was comfortable and had a range of pillows of different firmness. Room was a little tired. 3 stars Snack station in hall. . Nice touch. Water bottles, soda. Coffee and tea in the morning. The snacks were canisters of assorted mixes (e.g. chocolate covered espresso beans). Great idea but all snacks seemed like they had been there a long time and were not fresh. Hard pass. 3 stars Value. At +/-$500 per night it felt a tad overpriced given my preceding comment. 3 stars Conclusion- I have no regrets about visiting. The staff made for an enjoyable stay. In the end that is all that matters. With a little refresh and upgrade the hotel would merit every nickel of what is a premium price for the area.

My husband and I went on our honeymoon here. It was so beautiful. It was snowing most of the time so we didn’t leave the property but once and between the in room massages and personalized private yoga session we had plenty to do! The breakfast and dinner at restaurant 17 was incredible!

Outstanding even in the off season if they have such a time.....Thank you staff for great food and wonderful service.

We had an incredible stay! The staff were so attentive and welcoming! The food is AMAZING! We ate dinner at the restaurant both nights! 10/10!!!
