I went on a family trip to Trieste in January to this hotel. We have been here before but I have got to point out that this hotel is great! There are many views of the sea. Their restaurant and the hotel rooms are very neat and organized. The staff were very kind to us while we were here. Also the location is close to the plaza where theres a roadway of stores to check out and very close to the center plaza with all the xmas trees! Thats it and to all the staff, thank you so much for your hospitality and we hope to see you next time

Excellent hotel, really great staff, real comfort.

We are two middle aged Irish sisters who lost our mother after a short illness in her 80th year last June. After spending 50+ Christmases with her we decided to go away rather than face the empty time near home. We were nervous booking this hotel as it seemed quite luxurious and a bit posh but the atmosphere is welcoming of everyone and this is really special. Even before we arrived we had communication with Giulio which reassured and comforted us about the type of stay we would have. We arrived into Trieste on 21st and spent some days driving around Trento and Austria which were lovely but from the moment we arrived into the reception on 24th we knew we were going to really enjoy this special hotel. From reception staff to the lovely kind bar man to the door men, the housekeeping staff and to Giulio who organised a really lovely taxi driver to take us back to the airport yesterday morning we can’t say enough thank you’s. We spent our days driving around Slovenia, Croatia and our last day bussing it around Trieste itself. This was a trip to really remember. Clean, comfortable beds, luxurious rooms, entrance, bar and lobby. Excellent stay in and excellent location.

A lovely stay in Trieste

I had a simply lovely stay here last year (late September 2023). I booked a sea view room (5th floor) and it was lovely. However, the room was somewhat awkwardly arranged. It would have been difficult for two people to navigate, but as I was traveling alone, this was not a problem. The breakfast room was delightful and the buffet options more than plentiful. My ONLY complaint was that the tub/shower combo was super slippery, but upon request I was provided with a non-skid mat for the floor of the tub. I had an extremely pleasant stay here and, if ever in Trieste again, I would be happy to return.

Gracious, Old World Feeling Yet With Updated Accommodations

We loved the beautiful Savoia Excelsior! We splurged on a Junior Suite overlooking the beautiful Bay of Trieste (complete with small balcony), and it was a welcoming oasis after long hours of touring. Interiors are all updated, but it was fun to imagine it 100+years ago, too. Staff was very accommodating, and special mention should be made of the helpful concierge, who gave us the best restaurant recommendations we could have received. We opted for taking advantage of the breakfast buffet each morning (about 25 euros per person), which seemed to offer something for everybody. Lovely furnishings, very comfortable bed, everything exceptionally clean. Also quiet! Memorable stay. Note: if you can make paid reservations in advance (we made ours 5 months prior to our stay), much better prices are available for larger rooms.
