The spa was my favorite. Monika’s massage was so relaxing and services with Emily were exactly what I’ve been looking for. My mom loves this spa and the hotel. She’s had issues with the description of the rooms and what is in the rooms but it was solved this trip. They offer an upgraded room with a sofa…but we learned the rooms don’t have sofas. The “adult” pool outside the spa does not have cocktails but quiet and you can do laps. The pool behind the hotel is nice, lots of seating, nice staff, tasty food and drinks. A nice trail to a waterfall and lots of trail signs about plants and animals. I’d really like 1 measuring stick next to one saguaro cactus to really show the height of these amazing cactus’. Breakfast and coffees were good and dinner in the bar the first night was nice and staff was enjoyable. We even tried the Flying V, and it didn’t disappoint. Got a reservation same day in the morning. Sat on the patio near sunset. The hotel looked so pretty. 3rd & 4th floors have the best views 😉

The first day and night was great was great but starting the next morning (and the next 27 hours) was the worst experience at a resort and we have had great experiences in the past at Loews. Also the room was beautiful and we Booked the Romance Package that was supposed to include champagne and chocolate covered strawberries however they never came even after multiple calls and requests on the app that we were encouraged to use for quicker service. Finally, they gave they gave us the chocolate covered strawberries and wine at checkout in plastic to go carton. Having them in the parking lot before they melt was not ideal, also the strawberries had bugs crawling on them, so we threw them out. The breakfast on the second day took almost one hour to get and finally the manager Rosey helped us and gave us four drink tickets for the poor experience. We decided to use them the same evening at the bar area with dinner. Our server took off 2 drinks not knowing we had 4 tickets. After telling him, he promised us to take off the 2 extra after he took the ticket. Never happened. After discussing with the manger, there was an apology for the "challenges". Assistant Front office Mgr Brent stated in writing "Our sincerest apologies again for falling short in creating a wonderful birthday experience your wife and yourself that you both deserved. I have passed this message on to our F&B leadership team in Adam Fisher our Director of Outlets, and Rosie Gastelum our Canyon Club Restaurant manager. They will be your point of contact from here and will be able to address these issues directly. They should be in contact with you very soon.". It has been almost 2 months and still waiting. Apparently, Loews Ventana Canyon challenges include fulfilling their packages, having staff follow-up to requests and applying free drink coupons. Maybe these are not topics at Loews Hospitality Academy. What was good? The couples massage and coffee. Because the last 27 hours were horrible, I felt Loews should give us a free future night with the romance package in the same room to make up for it and hopefully change our perception. Instead, they applied a $150 credit to our bill stating that was all they could do. It is our opinion that if you have a special event like a birthday for the love of your life, save yourself some aggravation by going elsewhere like the Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain, the Phoenician or the Sanctuary. You also could buy yourself some strawberries and champagne and go sit at the DMV. It is our opinion that these options will give a better experience than Loews Ventana Canyon.

Such a well run, beautiful and comfortable hotel, but also right near the trail head to ventana canyon. We loved the native landscaping and so much wildlife! Bistro had perfect to go breakfast sandwiches, and the bar was comfortable and welcoming. The views from out king bed 4th floor room were beautiful.

Hotel is uneven, depending upon whom you interact with. In pretty location. But staff is iffy. Had a wonderful guy at front desk (Salvatore) who tried very hard to get us into a room. We arrived at 1 pm and the room wasn't ready until 4 pm, despite his best efforts. He gave us 4 coupons for free wine for our inconvenience. When I went to the bar to get one glass of wine the bartender scrutinized the coupons for a while, as if I were a criminal. Then she told me I couldn't have the wine I wanted, I could only have their cheapest wine. I said how about if I give you 2 coupons instead of 1? NO! Then I told her I would pay the difference in cost. She said NO! I have no way to account for that! So I just paid for a glass of wine and kept the coupons. At this point we had been waiting for a room for hours, I was exhausted, and it would have been nice to have an employee who tried to help (like Salvatore) rather than be obnoxious because she was obviously in a bad mood. She needs to go back to training and learn her job is to help, rather than make customers feel worse. The next night my husband went to the bar (I told him to avoid her), and she was there, but there was a second bartender as well. My husband asked the other bartender if he could have their best wine if he gave him 2 coupons. He said, of course. (Right answer!) Other than that, the rooms are fine -- walls are very thin and we had a family with a screaming baby next door. That's not management's fault though. Summary: If you are looking for a high-quality hotel with excellent customer service, find someplace else. This isn't for you. Note to hotel: Fire the woman who was working the bar on March 14-15.

First time at Loews Ventana Canyon & had an amazing experience. Amazing views, staff & food. We did not leave the resort because the experience was so good! We did Sunday’s Blues Brews & BBQ buffet and it was incredible with Cole as our waiter.

The spa is out of this world - best massage ever. Animals are welcome and treated like special guests too!
