Trump Turnberry

I recently stayed at the Trump Turnberry Hotel, and while I have to commend the staff for their excellent service, professionalism, and warm hospitality throughout our stay, unfortunately, the overall experience was far below expectations for a hotel of this calibre. During our visit, we encountered a severe power outage that disrupted the wedding we were attending plans affected basic services such as water / electrics / lighting. Most concerning, however, was the issue of dirty water coming through the taps — a problem that persisted throughout our stay (video attached). This significantly impacted our comfort and sense of hygiene, and it’s simply not what one would expect from a luxury resort. While the staff did their best under difficult circumstances and remained consistently helpful and courteous, the handling of the situation by executive office management after the fact has been deeply disappointing. Guests who experienced the same issues during the same time frame have reportedly been compensated differently, with some receiving substantial gestures and others receiving lesser. This inconsistency in how guests have been treated adds to the frustration and feels unfair, especially considering the inconvenience we all endured. For a hotel that prides itself on a five-star experience, the lack of consistent post-incident resolution has left a poor impression. It’s unfortunate, as the setting is beautiful and the team on the ground were a credit to the brand — but these operational and service failures, coupled with unequal treatment afterward, have sadly overshadowed our visit.

Outstanding stay at this resort. Weather was perfect, which helped. Visited the beach. The views were amazing. Didn't play golf but did wander around. Walked to the lighthouse, which, for me, was a fair walk, but the views of Arran and Aisle Craig are breathtaking. Breakfast was of a very high standard, and the assortment was great. We drank and dined. Cannot fault anything. The staff we encountered were also very friendly and helpful. The spa/swimming was fantastic too. Staff couldn't be more helpful.

On arrival at the hotel, we found it difficult to get a parking space. Long queue for check in to be told our room wasn’t ready. Young girl on the desk had absolutely no customer service skills and couldn’t crack a smile. Room was finally ready but bag hadn’t yet arrived so we were unable to get ready and go to the spa. Finally bags arrived to our room and the robes supplied were not in a particularly great condition, so again we had to wait to have another sent up. Spa was lovely although very busy - maybe avoid weekends if you’d like more of a relaxing break. Dinner in the clubhouse was lovely, service impeccable and the young girl serving was a credit to the hotel. Food was lovely too. Breakfast again - long wait to get seated then seated right at the back near the hot plates, asked to be moved as constantly being brushed past by guests and workers. Overall, for a hotel that classes themselves as luxury and 5 star, I would say many improvements needed.

We were one of the many flights turned back from Heathrow last Thursday when they shut it down from a fire. We flew 10 hours round trip from Los Angeles and never made it to London and Scotland. We were supposed to be there to watch my daughter play soccer and we had to scrap our whole trip because we missed our reason for going since they couldn't get us on another flight for 5 days. Out of ALL the hotels in London and Scotland we were staying at- the Trump Turnberry was truly compassionate and refunded our stay without any drama or negativity. This makes me absolutely want to go visit this beautiful hotel soon- and as a travel advisor- I will recommend this hotel to all of my clients.

Amazing stay at Trump Turnberry, our new favourite hotel, all the staff at the hotel were amazing and friendly, parking the car, taking all our bags to the the room, staff went above and beyond, food was unreal and the spa was incredible, no complaints Couldn’t thank them enough for making my birthday so special, look forward to returning.
