The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur

We genuinely felt sad when it was time to leave Udai Vilas, the way you feel when leaving friends and family. I'm very well travelled and I don't feel this way very often. We stayed for only a couple of nights and I could have easily stayed for two weeks. This stay was planned to coincide with my wife's birthday and I had carefully looked into all options at Udaipur, including Lake Palace. I'm really pleased that we decided to stay here. We were truly touched with the warmth and care shown towards us and little personal touches here and there, which made the stay extra special. No snobbery, no pretentious attitude that I have sometimes seen in famous hotels. My younger daughter was feeling a bit unwell and every member of the staff we met asked me about how she was feeling. She stayed back, lazing by the pool while we went out and staff got her food and drinks by the poolside. They recommended some nice places to shop as well. Please DO NOT miss the sunset boat ride. Spectacular. The entire team is superb and I'd only mention a few of them who I can remember. Starting with tall and imposing Prabhu ji at the gate who has the memory of an elephant. Atul ji the duty manager, Dipali Ji, Rohit, Ankur, Vivek, Jordan, Pranav just to name a few. And the performers who dedicated a song to me and my wife ! And Prachi ji from the housekeeping team who made a lovely cake for my wife. We are vegetarians mostly and there were plenty of choices. Breakfast spread was fantastic. I was pleasantly surprised to find Babaganush in Rajasthan. My daughters loved the pancakes. And then the building itself. I'm a keen photographer and this is a photographer's heaven. Archways for framing the subjects, perfect fusion of Rajput and Mughal style and brilliant use of flowing water. Somehow the cascading water and arches reminded me of the ruins of Al Hambra in Grenada. Rooms were spacious, bed firm, excellent shower pressure and sprawling grounds with many birds including some nice plum headed parakeets. Sometimes you spend a lot of money and wonder if it was worth spending. Here I felt every penny was well spent. Please do leave some gratuity for the whole team as I appreciate that the management does not encourage tipping individually. Overall, I'd return in a heartbeat! My fussy daughter tells me she would like to get married here ! Thank you Team Udai Vilas.

I recently booked Udaivillas, Udaipur for stay between 16-19th Dec, 2024. However, due to a family emergency I needed to cancel my reservation and was assured by the hotel that I would receive a refund after providing required documentation. However, weeks have passed since my request, and despite multiple follow-ups with the front desk and customer service, I have yet to see any action on my refund. The lack of transparency and the slow response to my inquiries have left me feeling neglected as a guest. It’s disappointing to see that a hotel of this caliber would fail to uphold such a basic aspect of customer service. While I understand that unforeseen issues can arise, the delay and lack of communication are unacceptable for a hotel that prides itself on its reputation. At this point, I’m left questioning whether I’ll ever see my refund, and it’s making me hesitant to recommend this hotel to others or to consider staying here again in the future. A disappointing experience for Udaivillas without even staying in the hotel.

Super property. Fabulous views. Efficient staff very courteous and accommodating. Loved the food variety. Room service was prompt and wow. Special mention of the restaurant head a lady name Ishika or ishita. She was very helpful and courteous. A special thank you to chef Siva and chef Ajay for considering my pure veg style. And providing with a nourishing whole some pure pure veg meals. Thank you for the fantastic hospitality. 👍

One of the most beautiful and luxurious stay. The staff is courteous and always ready to provide any support. We have made wonderful memories. Service provided was excellent. The property is very well maintained with lots of birds all around.

The resort and the staff in all departments the best. Suhani, the front desk manager was the most courteous person I have ever made in this industry. The resort can be untidy in the outdoor lake dining areas due to numerous weddings, also the pool temperature was't as high as we would have likem, overall a great luxurious resort experience.
