When it debuted at the height of the Roaring Twenties, Rosewood Hotel Georgia established itself as the Canadian destination for entertainment royalty. Marlene Dietrich showed up with 40 of her suitcases, John Wayne sauntered over the threshold, and Bing Crosby topped a never-ending list of headline entertainers. British Columbia’s top radio station, CKWX, broadcasted from the penthouse for more than a decade. Today, after a 2011 renovation, old-world touches still glimmer in a thoroughly modern hotel, a revival of the Golden Age of Travel. There’s a funky, mosaic-tiled indoor pool and a gourmet room service menu that serves late into the night (you can thank Audrey Hepburn’s list of demands for that one).

The Rosewood is simply superb! The premier room we stayed in had a magnificent view of the art gallery and city. The room had many great details with superb amenities. The staff was very friendly, including the woman Sandra who ensured our room was perfect. Great location as well. We have stayed at every 5 star hotel in Vancouver and the airport and this odd now at the top of our favorites! One small issue I had called the front desk on two occasions and no one answered after 10 rings.

As a returning guest who booked a premium suite, I'm shocked by my recent experience. The Wi-Fi in our room simply did not work from check-in until late the next day, severely impacting my business activities. While technical issues can happen, the response was unacceptable. The first engineer tried to help, but after several sessions of troubleshooting he called on the engineering manager. When the engineering manager arrived, he was dismissive and unprofessional. He made me stand while he worked, blamed my devices for blocking websites like Slack and Air Canada (which was proven false when my spouse had the same issues in our suite), and showed little empathy for the business calls and work I was missing. The problem was eventually fixed on their end and I can finally use the internet after a full day of it not working, proving it was their system all along. While I understand they were at full capacity (evident in some minor breakfast service issues which were promptly fixed by courteous staff), this doesn't excuse poor technical support or unprofessional treatment. Most disappointing was their response to my complaint - a generic message suggesting the Wi-Fi only had issues "last night" and clearly hadn't been read. This level of customer service is unacceptable from a hotel of this caliber, especially given my previous positive experiences. What was once my go-to hotel recommendation in Vancouver has now become a place I cannot recommend. Positive: Location, excellent housekeeping staff who provided amazing service. MAJOR ISSUES: The complete Wi-Fi failure in our expensive suite made business work impossible, but worse was the engineering manager's attitude and being forced to stand while being blamed for their system failure. Their tone-deaf response to my formal complaint, suggesting it was just a one-night issue, proves they don't value guest feedback or take responsibility for their failures.

Our whole experience was simply superb! We were in town for the Taylor Swift concert and despite the city being crowded, the hotel never felt overwhelmed with guests. The service was top notch from the impeccable housekeeping to the delicious room service. Jordan, the concierge helped us arrange restaurant reservations, excursions and transportation. He was beyond helpful. The hotel location is perfect with shopping and restaurants in walkable distance. The decor and lobby were stunning. We didn't have one complaint and hope to be back soon!

We stayed at Rosewood Hotel Georgia and really disappointed with the services provided by front desk and our room was late for an hour while asking for upgrade to double bed at CAD 50 per night. It is not acceptable. This is not a good standard of Rosewood hotels and they lack of care. We have been waiting for hostess to present menus while we are waiting for rooms and it take at least 15 minutes to get the drink list. It seem like hotel lack of professionalism. It is a big shame that I paid high room rate but not feel worth of what we are paying.

What a good hotel! The scent in the hotel lobby was wonderful and welcoming. The room was tastefully decorated and incredibly clean. The bed had the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. Nothing negative to say about my stay. I would stay in this hotel again, and again, and again!
