Excellent central location NIce lighting under the hangar bar in closet Room seemed dated iwth one chair at small round table and one chair at end of table serving as desk. Two outlets served all the lights except the bed lights. No fan in the bathroom. Exercise room small No drawers for clothes-shelves and hangars instead. Bed was comfortable

The hotel is very central, and I recommended over the Canada Place zone, since you'll find a less crowded zone. However if you need to visit the Canada Place/Waterfront zone, the hotel is only at 7-9 mins by walk. I have no complaints of this hotel, it was good experience, the staff was kind and professional.

I recently stayed at the Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver while in town for a conference. The staff was very friendly when I arrived and I was quickly checked into my room. The room was very clean and comfortable and there was daily maid service. When I checked out, they stored my bags so I could spend some time exploring the city. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Downtown Vancouver.

Stayed for a couple of nights. Honestly the lady (I think she owns the place) was wonderful. My friend accidentally spilled hc on her sheets, the guy working was annoyed and reluctant to get new sheets, gave us attitude. Had issues logging into Netflix as previous guest was still signed in. We had to get the lady working the front desk (possible owner) to come help us sort out the Netflix. It took a while but it was sorted. When we were ready to depart we had a problem logging out of Netflix, we even rebooted the TV. We let the lady know of the issue and ask that she please make sure we were logged out. She said no problem as she was going to get someone to see what was happening with the Netflix app. It's very obvious the hotel is old and that rather that fix and update some things in the rooms, the used the door (which is nice) to distract. We did not use the tub/shower. It was not clean and the drain looked like something would crawl out. The faucet wasn't much better. We later learned that placed was originally an inn/motel that had been upgraded. The courtyard and snack/beverages area is nice/cute. The beds and pillows, omg SOOO COMFY. And the service we got from the lady we dealt with was soo good, that we didn't complain about anything (not the dirty shower or rude evening staff). In chatting with her, we casually said we found the hotel was quite far from a lot of the touristy places but it was a lesson learned for us. We expressed how nice her the hotel was for a 2-star place and praised her customer service. She had helped us with storing our bags, lent us hotel umbrellas when it decided to rain. We were just immensely grateful. And we made sure to let her know we would leave a review. Now imagine us, arriving at our next destination. It's quite late, we are in the process of setting into our new hotel. We go to log into Netflix but can't because "we are logged on to too many TVs'. OK, wte, the lady Metro might have forgotten to log us of her tv if she got busy. We ended logging out of all devices just so we could put on a movie at our new hotel. When we opened the account, a couple of the names had been edited. By one avatar, the new name read, "N__GER" Beside the other avatar was: "F_G" We were so discombobulated at seeing such vile words and unprovoked at that!! We took pictures of the colorfully edited Netflix page and emailed the person in charge of guest services, so the lady with whom we had been dealing during our stay. In the email we took the approach of "hey we wanted to bring this to your attention as you most likely are unaware, followed by how seeing those words affected us, also what part of us implied we were "fags", short hair? We waited for a response, a simple but sincere apology would have done. One bad staff member shouldn't ruined the outlook on the hotel, right? That was wishful thinking. Before the incident (with the slurs) my friend had already leftna very positive review of the hotel on Expedia. The lady, co-owner of the hotel, the one in charge of handling guests and dealing with any complaints, NEVER got back to us. The lady we had been dealing with during our stay, we went our way to make sure she would remember and know who was sending the email. The was email read, but I guess she didn't see anything wrong with what was done. For all we know she might have been the one to do it. What she did do, was reply to my friends positive review on Expedia with the generic "Thank you and etc." Expedia doesn't allow you to edit reviews, so well here I am. This is largely a PSA to black people and members of LGBTQIA+, the people (Indians) at this hotel might have an issue with you, you know because you exist. Aside from sleep, we were 85% not in out hotel room or at the hotel. There was not bad run-ins to use an excuse. Just what was the motive for those heinous slurs if it not that we exist. My God we tipped very handsomely, out of gratitude. We paid out fee, then had her charge us for something else so we could tip!.

Overall, a nice stay. Rooms are spacious, bathroom has lots of counter space, plenty of charging ports available. Desk service and housekeeping were outstanding. One complaint is that you can hear the road noise, even 14 floors up…and there are cars going down the street all night long.
