The location of this hotel couldn’t be better! We can easily walk to great restaurants, the water, and to wonderful places to shop! But the beds are so comfy and the pillows are wondrous. They have Aveda soap in the bathroom and the tub (separate from the shower) is huge! I have stayed there three times already and I am looking forward to my next visit to Vancouver to stay there again.

Ambiance and Atmosphere: The Metropolitan Vancouver Hotel offers a central and convenient location, but its ambiance is marred by some glaring issues. While the building itself is well-maintained, an unpleasant odor at the front of the property (possibly from a nearby source of trash) detracts significantly from the experience. This smell was persistent, day and night, making arrivals and departures notably unpleasant. Inside, the hotel leans toward a classic design aesthetic that feels dated rather than inviting. Service Quality: The staff were a highlight of the stay—friendly, approachable, and polite. Their positive demeanor helped counterbalance some of the hotel’s shortcomings. However, the overall experience wasn’t helped by inaccessible facilities (more on this below) and lackluster services that left the impression of a hotel more focused on meeting minimum standards than exceeding expectations. Accommodations and Amenities: The room itself was comfortable, clean, and met expectations for a mid-tier hotel. Beds were cozy, and the space was well-kept. However, the advertised business amenities were disappointing and borderline misleading. The “business center” is no more than a single desk, with the meeting room perpetually locked and the library almost always reserved for private functions. For business travelers, this is far from ideal and fails to deliver on the promise of useful amenities. Additionally, the included breakfast is not worth opting for. It is extremely basic and underwhelming, leaving one feeling like it was more of an afterthought than a meaningful part of the stay. Guests seeking a satisfying breakfast would be better off exploring nearby cafes or eateries instead. Overall Experience and Value: While the hotel’s location is undeniably convenient for exploring Vancouver, the unpleasant smell, underwhelming amenities, and disappointing breakfast make it difficult to justify the value. The rooms are fine for sleeping, but if you’re looking for a well-rounded hotel experience or business-friendly features, you might want to look elsewhere. Constructive Criticism: • The persistent odor outside the hotel is a major deterrent and should be addressed, even if the issue originates from a neighboring property. Improved air circulation or odor masking techniques could help mitigate the impact. • Revamp the breakfast offerings with a wider selection of higher-quality items to provide a better experience for guests. • Ensure advertised business amenities are available and usable. Locked meeting rooms and a single desk do not meet the needs of business travelers. Recommendation: The Metropolitan Vancouver Hotel might work for leisure travelers looking for a central location and basic accommodations, but business travelers or those seeking a more polished experience may find it lacking.

Only stayed at the Metropolitan for one night on the way to and again on the way back from Whitehorse YT. The location is great, downtown a block from the train station, so very easy to get there from the airport. Pacific shopping center is across the street and great restaurants are close by. Our room was very comfortable, well appointed and the service was great. Solid choice for Vancouver. Didn’t try the restaurant, or the pool.

Excellent central location NIce lighting under the hangar bar in closet Room seemed dated iwth one chair at small round table and one chair at end of table serving as desk. Two outlets served all the lights except the bed lights. No fan in the bathroom. Exercise room small No drawers for clothes-shelves and hangars instead. Bed was comfortable

The hotel is very central, and I recommended over the Canada Place zone, since you'll find a less crowded zone. However if you need to visit the Canada Place/Waterfront zone, the hotel is only at 7-9 mins by walk. I have no complaints of this hotel, it was good experience, the staff was kind and professional.
