The Pan Pacific is in a superb location on Vancouver’s stunning waterfront. We’re here for 2 nights (Friday/Saturday in January) to celebrate a birthday. To say we were underwhelmed with the check-in experience yesterday would be an understatement. We waited in the registration lineup for 20 minutes while ONE clerk checked in another couple. We finally got to the desk only to be told their “system is down” so they are unable to check us in. Ok, stuff happens. They took our cell number, stored our bags, and we went to the bar for a drink. No phone call came. We were in the bar over an hour before my husband went back to the registration lineup again. There were NINE people ahead of him. One poor clerk still attempting to check people in or explain why he couldn’t. Where on earth was a manager?! No one came to explain to the lineup what was happening. Inexcusable in a 5 star hotel. My husband finally got his turn at the desk for the second time only to be told that now there was a key problem - no keys were working (more of the system failure presumably.) And still NO manager anywhere! They took our cell number again and we went for a walk. We were supposed to be meeting people at a bar on Georgia for drinks at 6 and we did not get into our room until almost 5:30. We never did get a call on the cell. We never did get an apology from management. The poor clerk was on his own! Ridiculous! Once checked in, our room on the 16th floor is very nice, beautiful view of Coal Harbour, etc. But our wifi didn’t work, again probably due to the earlier “system failure” so back to the front desk again to sort that out. The whole process of getting into the room was unnecessarily stressful because of the lack of management. This really tainted our stay unfortunately. Systems crash occasionally (although never in our experience at a hotel of this supposed calibre) and everyone can understand that but the lack of management and the callous way guests were virtually ignored yesterday has really left a bad taste. I believe we would have had more attentive service at a Motel 6. There are many, many other options for good hotels in Vancouver. We would like to hear from a manager before we’d ever try the Pan Pacific again.

We stayed at Pan Pacific for one night to celebrate our anniversary. This is a solid hotel, in an excellent location. We had a room with a harbour view, which was really nice. The room is spacious and it has everything you need: mini fridge, coffee maker, bath robes, ironing board, etc. They sent us a beautiful and delicious dessert to celebrate our anniversary, which was a very nice touch. Overall it was a nice stay, but I expected a little more from a “famous” and relatively expensive hotel like Pan Pacific. Bathroom could have some toiletries like cotton swabs and makeup remover. Check in was Ok, but lacked some information that we had to figure out later. Parking is INSANELY expensive, we had to park at a public parking close by. They are pet friendly and charge a pet fee like most hotels, but they didn’t offer anything to my dog, most hotels give you some treats, waste bags and ask if you need any bowls. I enjoyed my stay, but I don’t know if I would stay again.

Location wise, you literally cannot stay any closer to the port! It’s the perfect spot for pre cruise stays, especially if you want ti see your cruise ship arrive in the port. As an added bonus, their staff and services are great, and there’s so much to do around the hotel. Highly recommended.

We absolutely loved our short stay at the Pan Pacific. We were upgraded to a harbour view, enjoyed free cocktails at the Coal Harbour Bar, and had a blast swimming on the rooftop despite the rain. The staff across the hotel - from check-in to bar to concierge - were stellar! Can’t recommend it enough :)

The hotel is older and kind of showing its age but a beautiful view and its in a great location. I do have a complaint though. The walls are quite thin so we could really and easily hear the kids having a great time in the pool at night. We could hear every word and laughter all night until quiet time - easy solve though for we could put on the fan. However, the fan on startled us every twenty minutes - Room 1016! It was like a nail gun that made this terribly loud air snap noise constantly waking us up. It was a jarring noise that made you jump. Needless to say we did not get a good night sleep either night - we did talk to the front desk about it.
