About the Hotel

When it debuted at the height of the Roaring Twenties, Rosewood Hotel Georgia established itself as the Canadian destination for entertainment royalty. Marlene Dietrich showed up with 40 of her suitcases, John Wayne sauntered over the threshold, and Bing Crosby topped a never-ending list of headline entertainers. British Columbia’s top radio station, CKWX, broadcasted from the penthouse for more than a decade. Today, after a 2011 renovation, old-world touches still glimmer in a thoroughly modern hotel, a revival of the Golden Age of Travel. There’s a funky, mosaic-tiled indoor pool and a gourmet room service menu that serves late into the night (you can thank Audrey Hepburn’s list of demands for that one).

Nice!!

The most considerate hotel I've ever stayed in!! We were here for 4 nights in the superior king wirh tub room. What a great experience, I had no idea a hotel could be so welcoming and luxurious!! A highlight is definitely the friendly and kind staff. They even have a WhatsApp line you can use to ask questions or make requests with quick and helpful responses! The best part of our stay was the housekeeping; our room was turned down multiple times a day. We would come back to find the curtains opened or closed as appropriate for the time of day, slippers laid out, charging cables neatly organized etc. the staff knock it out of the park with this!!! The sheets and bed are extremely comfortable. I normally wake up itchy from hotel sheets/cleaning agents but had no problems here! The motion sensor floor flighting to the bathroom in the night is the 10/10 feature I didn't know I needed but now can't do without. There was also a Bluetooth speaker on the room and Chromecast capability to the tv which made the space cozy and great to relax in. The bathroom was fantastic with dual sinks, a large soaker tub, rainfall showerhead. I normally don't like rainfall showers but this one had great water pressure and a wide area. The hotel gym was one of the best I've seen. Wide variety of equipment including few machines, smith machine, dumbbells, rowing machine, ellipticals, and three treadmills. The gym had ice water and cold towels ready. A great difference from other hotels where the fitness room is a small closet in the back! We tried the cocktail bar Prophecy downstairs which was fantastic! So convenient being able to pop down for a drink before heading back to the room! The location of the hotel overall was fantastic with many restaurants, the SkyTrain, and shops a short walk away!! My only complaint would be that the heated floor in the bathroom was quite underwhelming. I've stayed in other locations where the floor feels warm and luxurious. Our flooring did not work at first, which to their credit the hotel addressed quickly. We had to ask them to come back a second time as it did not seem as it was working still, but it turns out the flooring just takes a long time to heat up and doesn't get too warm. It more keeps the flooring not cold rather than warm, and takes several hours to do so. So coming back after dinner meant the floor wouldn't be warm until he middle of the night. Overall this was a fantastic stay and I wouldn't hesitate to come back, and will be looking for Rosewood properties in the future!

What a wonderful hotel in Vancouver

What a awesome hotel in Vancouver! This was my first time staying at this hotel and my 3rd Rosewood brand hotel. I've also stayed at the Rosewood Phnom Penh, Cambodia and the Rosewood Kona Village, Big Island, Hawaii. This hotel makes the brand proud! Excellent service from the moment you walk in until they check you in and making sure all your needs are met. I arrived from my flight early so needed to drop off my luggage before check in with ease. I wear a size 12 men's shoe so the small slippers in the room does not fit me. I told the housekeeper and 15 minutes later, there was knock on my door and a pair of bigger sized slippers were brought to my room! It was from the spa maybe? The rooms are clean and luxurious. Water and shortbread was left every night for turndown service! The location is very convenient to the vancouver metro and there is a Lond Drugs convenient store 1 block away. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. I loved the bar there and eating breakfast 3 mornings where I was served really well by the staff there especially by Leanne! I would definitely come back to this hotel when im back in town again! Ill also just catch the subway train from the airport and walk 1 block versus taking Uber or taxi. Thank you Rosewood Georgia for a wonderful stay!

Great stay made better by the helpful staff

We recently stayed one night at the rosewood in two rooms before heading to Whistler. We had the deluxe king rooms. We had one kid in the grandparents room on a rollaway and one in our room in a crib. The bathroom was quite large so the crib fit comfortable in there with ample space to move around. We liked the location of the hotel. The lobby bar was bumping when we arrived Friday at 5 pm so seemed like a cool spot to hang with live music. Our kids used the indoor pool the next morning to great delight. The breakfast was lovely. I found the room to be good as well. They are good size so it had a small couch and chairs. What made this experience extra enjoyable was the staff. There’s a wonderful woman that works the front door for seating in the restaurant and lounge that was so kind to our kids. She brought them drawing books and crayons. She was so sweet and told us they were not a bother as they roamed around the lobby while we ate (also adjacent to the lobby so had eyes on them). Her name escapes me but I believe she’s a preschool teacher too. All the breakfast staff were lovely and attentive. The bellhop guys were great. Arrived quickly to bring luggage and retrieve it. I believe it was Robert who was so helpful when our private shuttle to Whistler showed up and it was too small for our crew so he helped us formulate a new plan. He suggested we take the kids to the science center and he would make sure all the bags got loaded onto the new shuttle they were sending in an hour and then he’d send the new shuttle to get us. That worked out flawlessly and saved us from dealing with two antsy kids in the lobby for an hour+. We felt like that staff went above and beyond in little ways and it didn’t go unnoticed.

Still a very good option, even after ten years

Over ten years later, we came back to the Hotel Georgia for a night. We stayed on an AMEX FHR rate which included a $100 property credit, complimentary breakfast, and a room upgrade. Let's start with the good - the lobby bartenders are some of the best I have encountered. Great conversation, excellent drinks, and we got a very good vibe from sitting there. The room was very clean, well appointed, and the bed was very comfortable. The turndown service was appreciated and we both liked having a proper Nespresso machine in the room. Despite facing the street and being on a lower floor, noise was not an issue. Front desk staff, just like last time, was very professional and aimed to please. Luckily, the not-so-great was mostly small things. We are now two for two on problems with the reservation while staying here. They had charged us the nightly rate despite having prepaid for the room through American Express. Last time it was an incorrect departure date. This was corrected quickly although it makes me wonder why this is a recurring problem here. Breakfast took over an hour from sitting down to getting the check, which felt too long to me. The front desk wasn't able to break a $20 bill, which I wanted to do to tip the valet, bell staff, and housekeeping staff. Nobody carries cash anymore so for tipping I'm reliant on hotels being able to break larger bills from ATMs I visit while traveling. I guess I ended up being a very generous tipper on this trip. Overall, a very nice stay at Hotel Georgia. I would stay here again.

Wonderful stay. I recommend it, it is real 5 star hotel. Design is very classy and fire place with real fire in the lobby. Staff is very helpful and polite. I’ll had issue with my Visa cards, it took a bit before I could actually pay so for that they upgraded a little my room ! So nice! Room is bit small but very clean and comfortable. Bathroom is amazing, bathtub design is great and fills fast. It is so comfy:) Pool is amazing, great architecture and water temperature was perfect. Sauna that also worked perfectly. Five stars and nothing negative to say. I recommend and hope will have an occasion to stay there again.
