My mom came a couple weeks ago and she really likes here, and now she come back with me. One of the reasons is Eli and Michel they are beautiful people, excellent entertainers and so professionals , the entertainment time is really nice and of course this the best resort.

This is our 3rd visit to Meliá Varadero, and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else. This time we got one of the beautifully renovated rooms on the 4th floor. The food and drink were good with no shortages. There is a nice variety of à la carte restaurants. We enjoyed Sakura (Japanese) and Tex Mex the most. There is entertainment every night and during the day, as well. We really enjoyed talking with Aldo, one of the entertainment guys. We enjoyed hanging out both at the beach and pool areas! The best part of the resort is the staff. Oscar, one of the hospitality managers, went above and beyond to help us when we needed anything. He is friendly and professional. He was our go-to guy for any inquiries about taxis, things to do outside the resort. He greeted us warmly from the first time we met him!

After 1000 hotel stays in 40 countries, this was our biggest surprise. Food, drink, beach werenall top notch but it was mostly the people that made this such a fabulous surprise. Cuba was an afterthought for so many years but the Meliã Varadero will now officially be an annual thing for us.

I attended an international conference and also stayed in the hotel. Therefore, I also need an invoice with my work address as the billing address in order to get reimbursed. The front desk was unable to do so and sent me to customer services who outright refused to provide me with a formal invoice. This is the first time this sever happened to me and inacceptable for a hotel that claims to have facilities to hold professional events. This is a shame as apart from the customer services the people who actually do the everyday work in the restaurants, bars and behind the scenes are very friendly and helpful. The staff at the Daiquiri bar for example provided excellent service and was very friendly. The food is nothing extraordinary, but taking the special situation in Cuba into account, it is very reasonable. The beach is actually quite nice. The hotel was relatively quiet at night and it was possible to sleep well. It is really unfortunate that the experience was mostly ruined by customer services refusing to prepare a standard invoice. However, as I now will not even get reimbursed partially by my university and will have to pay everything myself. Therefore, I cannot recommend this hotel at all for any kind of conference or business events.
