Pyotr Ilyich Tchiakovsky is one of the notable guests who have stayed at Hotel Londra Palace – he composed the first three movements of Symphony No. 4, originally titled "Do Leoni," in Room 106. Maybe the islands and 16th Century architecture he saw across the watery horizon inspired him. Rooms are individually decorated with ornate fabric walls and Biedermeier furniture, while the restaurant – named Do Leoni – serves Venetian classics under crystal chandeliers.

The perfect hotel for a great time in Venice. You cannot be located any better. The hotel is not as heavy as some other ancient palaces which are hotels now. The staff is really very friendly and helpful when needed. We will certainly come back!

A superb hotel in a wonderful location . The staff were excellent and this was our second time staying here - this will be our ' go to hotel' for any future trips to Venice. Thoroughly recommend and can not praise it too highly - just fabulous in every respect.

This magnificent hotel is the very embodiment of Italian hospitality and friendliness, checking in was special and Andrea, Ilaria and Simonetta were always welcoming with their genuine smiles. As a consummate hotelier and traveler I believe that I can judge. Among many attributes this is an hotel that practices the golden rule of hospitality, since the word no doesn’t form part of theirs vocabulary. We opted to dine every night in the hotel restaurant since the food and the service were refined and efficient. My wife and I are vegetarians and Sante, the maitre d', had generously adjusted the menu to our needs and tastes. Our room had a view of the Grand Canal and everything is exquisite, from the bed, the linens and bathroom amenities. The housekeeping ladies did an excellent job and we also appreciated the turn down service. For us the Londra Palace is part of the collection of hotels where you fill at home and you don’t want to leave as well as those that you wants to return to.

The staff at this hotel are so helpful . From the moment I booked , I emailed to request some opera tickets be reserved and transfers arranged . No request was too small . They create a really lovely atmosphere . The hotel is beautiful , a lot of attention to detail ,throughout . Even on a wet day or when you just want to sit and watch the world go past ,the hotel has areas to sit outside / undercover or in the indoor ‘ living room ‘ .We will definitely be back . The lagoon rooms , may cost more , but the view is incredible and you will not be disappointed . Thankyou so much for a wonderful stay .

Londra Palace review This was the absolute perfect choice for our stay after arriving on The Orient Express celebrating our Ruby Anniversary. We love high quality and excellent service but do not like fuss. The balance at this beautiful hotel is perfect. Staff are sufficiently attentive in a professional and friendly manner without being intrusive. The lounges, bar and dining areas both inside and out are beautifully presented and kept. Location of the property is excellent although the fact that ‘market stalls’ are allowed to pitch right in front does somewhat spoil the enjoyment of the view across the lagoon from street level. It is also an exceptionally busy thoroughfare for tourists walking to and from main attractions in Piazza San Marco. We actually found this entertaining as we people watched whilst enjoying our afternoon cocktails. We ate a number of times at the restaurant including one evening enjoying the Altana experience which is one I would thoroughly recommend. The food served is outstanding at all meals. Choices for breakfast were excellent and the daily cakes and breads delicious. Quality of produce, skill in menu planning and food preparation for fine dining was all outstanding. There were some very different and creative choices available with each course feeling like a mini culinary adventure. Waiting staff always presented dishes with aplomb and respect to the food on the plate. A superb selection of wines to complement the meal rounded off the experience. Our room was perfect for our needs being both exceptionally clean and most elegantly decorated. It was superbly quiet (when windows were closed) despite the cacophony of Venetian life going on below. The room we chose did not have a balcony so we had to stand at the window to enjoy our view but the weather was so extremely hot whilst we were there that we would have kept the balcony doors shut (as we did our windows) most of the time to keep our room cool anyway. The bed was superbly comfortable and the pillows perfect. Fabulous coffee from the machine in our room. Housekeeping staff were delightful and did a most excellent job every day. We really loved our whole stay and the Londra Palace will be our first choice next time we are fortunate enough to visit Venice
