Horrible experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Firstly, booked a suit, arrived and The very unpleasant man at The reception says that its not paid, when The payment was maid online. Secondly, The same man takes my card and says He will deduct an amount from there . After 30min spent at The reception i was led into my room all stressed and worried. After 20min in my room i called to The reception and asked if all good, they said yes, The room was paid online as i said earlier. Didnt say sorry and was still giving me attitude. Thirdly, on my check out day asked to book a boat at 4am. They said ok. At 23pm they came and said that there will be a fog and they don’t know if the boat will take me to the airport. And he is saying me this at 23pm when I need to leave at 4am. No solution was offered just to take a risk and wait until 4am. Went at 4am at the concierge and there is no boat and no concierge, no one at the hotel. Calling the concierge and no answer. Then after 15min wait the concierge arrived and said the boat is coming. Horrible and stressful experience in this hotel. The reception and concierge guys are really rude.

Beautiful hotel and fantastic service.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The hotel is quiet and beautiful. Service is extraordinary and the staff is very attentive. Housekeeping does an excellent job in keeping the hotel rooms clean and up to standard. But the choices of dinning is limited and the air con is no longer working in Oct, which is the reason I cannot give 5 stars.

A beautiful week in May

We know this very pleasant resort for Years. The location is extraordinary and every day with the shuttle from the hotel to Saint Marco square you enter and discover Venice, a marvellous city. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a beautiful and direct view on the lagoon. We have experienced a warm welcome from all the staff everywhere, at the restaurant ACQARELLO, at the swimmingpool, at the desk... Stay in this resort is the best way to meet Venitian culture and have a good rest after a wonderful day-walk in the town.

A haven in Venice

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

I absolutely love staying at the San Clemente Palace, a haven of peace, tranquility and beauty away from the crowds of Venice. I love the boat shuttle service which brings you into St Marks, the beautiful grounds with a walking track, gorgeous sculptures and fabulous heated outdoor pool. The rooms are spacious and have beautiful bathrooms and are completely silent at night. There is an exquisite chapel and weather permitting the opportunity to eat breakfast outside in the courtyard. I never want to leave.

Could be better in certain aspects, otherwise, a beautiful hotel.

The hotel is beautiful, the grounds fabulous and very clean. Staff are friendly, but there were some down sides. We booked this hotel for many reasons, one being it stated it has air conditioning, which is correct, however, they had turned it off for the whole building. yes, it was not very hot but my husband likes to be very cold when sleeping and will use the air conditioning all year round. This option was taken away from us as it had all been switched off. Before we arrived at the hotel we filled in a questionnaire which resulted in us requesting different pillows (More firm ones). when we arrived, there was 1 pillow for 2 of us. we asked for another and it took several hours for it to be taken to our room. The mini fridge is to be refilled every 2 days, we were at the hotel for 5 days (3 nights). it was not re filled at all, we asked for it to be done on day 2 and it never happened. On the evening of day 2 we asked the member of staff on the desk who informed us that those who deal with that side of things have already finished for the day and he cannot help. He did however kindly bring us some fresh milk and sugar so we could have some tea in our rooms. In our rooms there was a QR code to download the hotel app on our phones. we did this and saw that the fine dinning restaurant's menu had slow cooked lamb, so we booked a table, were greeted by lovely staff and shown to our table, looking through the menu there was no slow cooked lamb. just fish dishes. My husband does not eat anything that comes from the sea. We were about to get up and leave when the lovely waitress (Russian lady, didn't get her name) went to the chef to see what they could do, they served my husband with Chicken breast which he really appreciated. They went above and beyond to satisfy us. The setting is beautiful, looking over the lagoon whilst eating. It was bought to our attention that the hotel app has not been updated for over a year. you'd think with the cost of the hotel they would spare some funds to keep their app up to date. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, the beds are very comfortable, staff are friendly and polite. food was delicious. staff in the bar area were very attentive. Although there were some negatives to point out, I would still re visit this hotel. they are not huge issues, just little niggly things that when you think of the cost, there shouldn't be little niggly things. We should be walking away saying wow, I don't want to leave. But we would love to return one day. Also to add, there is a free shuttle to the main island by San Marco Square (also return) which takes you every 40 minutes. If the shuttle boat is at capacity, they will provide a separate water taxi to get you there. The hotel also provides a complimentary trip to the Murano Glass Factory including a tour. Well worth a visit. The church on the island is stunning, make sure you visit. in the evening is best when you see all the lights too. We arrived back home late last night and I still feel like I'm swaying on a boat!
