Splendid Venice

Nice hotel and very central and accessible. In separate reception area one section of curtain was sitting on floor to left of reception and filthy dirty not a good first impression. The hotel itself was nice. Room on was nice, had sign of wear and tear, bathroom door damaged. Bar, dining and sitting areas were tastefully decorated and comfortable seating. Safe were excellent.

Well located hotel recommended to me. Service was very good, very nice room (suite); some decor / maintenance issues require attention. Complementary Prosecco, Chianti and water. Turn down service. Staff are helpful. Good selection of in room toiletries. No cheap but you get what you pay for!

I am not sure I will book with Star Hotels again because it is nearly impossible to find my reservations on their website. Modifying a reservation is almost impossible. This make is tough when traveling. Customer Service responds but takes a while and by that time it is too late. Even if you are able to cancel in time, being able to do that is very difficult compared to Booking.

We arrived by train into Venice after dark and was met by a water taxi. The taxi took us down the Grand Canal and through a couple of small canals directly to the hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was on the small side, but very comfortable. From our location, it was a easy walk to the St Marks Square and Rialto Bridge. The hotel had a very good breakfast buffet (a little expensive) or you could order la carte. The first night we ate in the restaurant and had a great pasta dish. They were also helpful in arranging dinners at other nearby restaurants. Great hotel.

The Splendid is definitely the top hotel in the best location in Venice. Close to the major venues and sightseeing spots of the city, easy to reach, great service, fantastic atmosphere, great and kind team members, great service and good food. We can onlz highly recommend this hotel.
