Reviews for Park Hyatt Vienna

Wein Park Hyatt

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I've stayed at the Park Hyatt New York, Paris, Seoul, Tokyo, Kyoto, Bangkok, Zurich, Jakarta, Vienna. The Park Hyatt Vienna has the most beautiful room. This hotel may have the most beautiful suite of any hotel I've ever stayed in. The level of details, materials and workmanship is second to none. The hotel facade, beautiful. The breakfast restaurant, magnificent and the food delicious. The spa and pool is inside a bank vault. If I have to nit pick, I'd say the hallways and the check in area are a bit underwhelming. The staffs are absolutely top notch. From the bell person, the front desk person (thank you Laura for your help with our Budapest and Vienna postcard) the hardworking room cleaners and the breakfast staffs. Location is perfect. Btw this was our first time in Vienna, I have to say the people here are some of the warmest and friendliest I've met anywhere. We'll definitely miss Wein Österreich

Understated luxury!

This was such a great hotel located in the center of Vienna! I really liked that it was an old bank building and part of the Hyatt portfolio! The Globalist upgrade to a suite was more than adequate for just myself, but I appreciated the space to not feel cramped in a small room. The blackout shades and curtains enabled for a great night of sleep! The breakfast was so good and the Truffle Scrambled Eggs were particularly amazing! I also enjoyed just little touches like the coffee cup being warmed up to keep my beverage warmer for longer and the friendliness and the attentiveness of the staff to strike the balance between engaging and providing space to enjoy. I wish I'd had more time to enjoy the hotel, but there's always next time!

A disappointment

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Our third stay at Park Hyatt Vienna left us puzzled after all. When arriving, we were glad to see Claudia and Karim again, who had made the best of previous stays with great recommendations and a guest-centred approach. Moreover, Shayenne's Check-in was from heart - she absolutely enriches the hotel team. Right upon arrival, we were intrigued by the presence of birthday champagne and cake, as well as the extra duvet and extra tea, both of which we had requested in advance, and the overall beautiful room. Especially the bathroom and its amazing shower set standards. From that time on, things turned into a very different direction. The air-conditioning only worked after a window fix, which was initiated after our report. After the repair works, the dirt was simply left by the window. Turn-down service on the first evening was careless, one pair of slippers and one dental kit for TWO guests were sad examples of that. On that evening, we ordered ice for our bottle of champagne and three bottles of non-alcoholic beer to be added to our minibar. Ice arrived outside the champagne bucket and three bottles of non-alcoholic beer remained in room temperature for three hours until we arrived. The tray charge of 5 Euros had been applied to our invoice, even though we had requested the beer as minibar equipment, which had been confirmed to us earlier. The next day, during morning service, neither tea and coffee nor water were refilled, which prompted us to approach the team again. The team manager took us to the bar for a conversation. He checked our housekeeping preferences with us, we requested the time spans between 11 am and 12 pm as well as 7 and 8 pm as our preference, and we asked for a technician to fix our water tab at 7 pm on the same evening. Finally, he offered us a 250 Euro discount on our total invoice as a compensation for the less than mediocre service delivered so far. After some thought, we agreed to that compensation. Some minutes later, in the early afternoon, the technician, announced for 7 pm, stood in front of the door, while we were still in the room. That incident occurred due to an internal miscommunication, which was completely understandable and acceptable. In the evening, on the same day, turn-down service was good with non-alcoholic beer and a card as a compensation. On 8 February 2025, we returned from our day trip around 3 pm, and housekeeping had not been in our room yet. Considering the history of events, this incident really annoyed us When reporting the incident to the front desk, we were told that housekeeping operated between 9 am and 5 pm, and the colleagues seemed not to have reached our room yet. In the morning we had said goodbye to the housekeeping lady tidying our neighbours' room, and, of course, our DND sign had been switched off, which was asked first. All that did not quite add up, the reaction did not fall in line with our expectations. Still, a very late check-out at 5.30 pm was made possible for the following day. In the evening, the room was in good order, but someone had removed the room key, which is why the room was very warm that night. In general, nothing worked, and after reporting, things tended to become worse. Allow us to line out that, as during three stays, we were told that the Park Hyatt had housekeeping issues, our conclusion comes to be that there is no housekeeping, but a management issue at play. When checking out with the team manager, who had promised the compensation of 250 Euros, he applied a discount of only 150 Euros. We tried to correct him, but he simply proceeded with the wrong amount. This enraged us to the fullest - false promises and refusing one's own mistakes, that felt offensive on a personal level. Only after two emails with Claudia, the General Manager's assistant, this mistake was corrected in the aftermath, that - again - was made very complicated for us. Also the offer for a free upgrade and a bar invitation in case of a future booking did not seem appropriate as a compensation considering major service failures not meeting the standard one would expect from a five-star- superior property. All that made us sad in the end, thinking of human qualities, we had encountered at Park Hyatt Vienna over the years, the great location, the property's incredible beauty, the good breakfast quality or the very friendly and helpful doormen. By the way, even though breakfast product quality was good, service was mixed, with some employees even refusing to serve water. Also, on busy days, when mostly employees without proper training were active, orders were constantly mixed up between tables. As a result of our overall experience, we will turn to competitors, for example Hotel Sacher, in the future, where we have not experienced service limitations of this kind yet.

Park Hyatt Vienna - Fabulous Stay!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The Park Hyatt Vienna was simply fabulous! Everything was top notch. From the door men who took our bags, to the check-in personnel, to the concierge. I'm so sorry I didn't get the name of the concierge who helped me every single morning. This was our first visit to Vienna and every morning he would highlight a map of the city with suggestions on what to see and where to go and drawing out walking paths for my husband and me. He gave us great suggestions and couldn't have been more helpful. The location of the Park Hyatt can't be beat. It's in the heart of the city and walking distance to almost everything you would want to see and do. The breakfast buffet was good but I wouldn't call it fantastic. The buffet at the Hyatt du Louvre in Paris was much better. We also had a service issue on Sunday. For some reason, we just couldn't get served. They wouldn't even look at us. Our coffee didn't arrive until after we had eaten. It was bizzare. But service was great all other mornings so I will just chalk that up to a miss/bad day. If I had to be really, really nitpicky - I would say I didn't like the products in the bathroom. The soaps, shampoos, conditioner were not great. I would have far preferred L'Occitane products. But again, I'm nitpicking. I would stay there again in a heart beat. The rooms are stunning and spacious. The linens, beds, towels were luxurious. The service was excellent. The rooms themselves were over-the-top beautiful.

Beautiful hotel

Gorgeous hotel. Friendly staff. The lovely lady (Anya?) who checked us in was so friendly and warm which was just what we needed after a long day of travel. The location was nice and you were able to walk to everything that we were interested in including the cathedral and some great restaurants. The building is beautiful and historic. We did not check out the dining areas, but they looked look very nice.
