So Vienna So Disappointing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

We booked this hotel thinking it would deliver the same quality and service as So Paris, unfortunately this was not the case. The room had several broken fittings and damaged furniture. The breakfast area was grubby, the service half hearted ( on our first morning we waited for 30 minutes to be served coffee) The ‘buffet’ areas were messy and the floor dirty and sticky in some parts. On our last day the room was not serviced when we returned mid afternoon, the surly girl on reception seemed to think this was in some way of our making The only redeeming experience came from the maintenance man who with impeccable manners reset the safe in our room. We would never book this hotel again.

Book elsewhere or be disappointed

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Hotel under-delivers at every point. Concierge and receptionist ignored us upon arrival - we had to ask for assistance as they were busy chatting to each other. Rooms are like hospital rooms - no warmth, no style, no character. Bed is horrendous. Feels like it’s 20 years old and moves around the room with the slightest touch. Never heard a bed so noisy with not much movement! Lobby Lounge closes at 5.30 - unbelievable for a supposed 5 star hotel They tell you to go to the rooftop bar - where it is booked out - so impossible to get a drink in this hotel! Overall very disappointing - and I have 2 days left here!!

Das loft lets this hotel down

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Review Our stay had its positive aspects: the housekeeping service was excellent, the beds were comfortable, and the check-in process was smooth and efficient. However, our experience at Das Loft was deeply disappointing. We chose this hotel specifically to enjoy the rooftop bar, but were turned away in the evening despite being invited earlier that morning to return. We came back early to make the most of our final evening, only to be denied entry without any prior notice about another event taking priority. Adding to the frustration, we weren’t even allowed to take photos. This lack of communication and prioritization of paying guests left a sour impression. Although we were invited to return for breakfast, the food that morning was uninviting, and the staff were equally unwelcoming. My advice to management: ensure hotel guests feel valued, especially when they come to experience key features like the rooftop. Better communication and improved hospitality would go a long way in avoiding similar disappointments for future guests.

Great Location - Not Great Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Good location - our room was massive! if a little grey. Standard big chain trying to be trendy type hotel. Cathedral view room on 13th floor was very spacious and comfortable with built in furniture and fairly well appointed - if you are staying more than a few days you may struggle with storage space. The 'bathroom' has a folding divider from the the bedroom - in our room it didn't work very well and complaints to the front desk didn't get it resolved. TV and sound system were infuriating to try to use and we could not get the hotel menus from the TV to order room service as the signal kept cutting out. We did call room service and the did deliver a great bottle of wine (although it was a tad expensive) I liked the space of the room, but the technology in the room was a let down (we were woken up by the lights flashing in the middle of the night - complaint was not actioned on) Coffee bar in the lobby had inconsistent service - the male server made the coffee better than the female - the guy did art on the top and provided a chocolate, she just pushed a button on the machine and didn't give any treats. Roof top restaurant - terrible service. You felt really unwelcome as staff would walk past you and around you, and ignore you when you arrive and it takes a while to get service. We went for a drink one night but the music was so loud it was impossible to sit and enjoy the night time view of Vienna - Lost in Translation it was not. Great for a business hotel but no real soul.

Impossible to sleep

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Despite our late arrival after a long journey, we were unable to rest due to a hotel event in the restaurant that continued until 2 AM. The reception failed to inform us of this beforehand. The loud music made it impossible to sleep. Additionally, the restaurant was closed due to the event, and room service was unavailable as there was no table suitable for two people in our room. While one could eat at the work desk, the other person had no option. Furthermore, the room lacked a sofa.
