Excellent location

This hotel is in a perfect location, walking distance to all of the main attractions, close to the train station! The rooftop bar is a must, we had breakfast every day and at night time the views! The staff are very friendly and there are a lot of great restaurants around! Especially the steak house which is accessed through a door from reception!

Beautiful hotel in a great location.

The room is spacious, all-white design, bright and clean, and the bed is comfortable and spacious. However, there are some minor flaws in the bathroom. The sliding door is stuck and cannot be fully closed. The drain cover of the bathtub is stuck and water leaks easily in the shower. Breakfast is served in the top-floor restaurant, which offers stunning views of the city.

Easter break 2024

This hotel is lovely Great location to get around and see the sites of Vienna , central location Lovely large room and bathroom Very clean and tidy Excellent check in and check out Taxis outside the hotel if needed. Nice bar area upstairs Nice view from our room Great view for breakfast , nice buffet breakfast . Would highly recommend Great restaurants and bars near by As it was Easter , received a small Easter chocolate . Book early if you would like a drink in the evening, as it gets very full, however as we were hotel guests , they found us a table .

The very best

This hotel should become a Sofitel Legend because of its architectural qualities but also because of its level of service and amenities. We arrived Jan. 15 and left Jan. 21. Perfect check_in, gorgeous suite (708) with black bedroom and white drawing room, superb breakfast, outstanding sauna/hammam/jacuzzi area and, above all, perfectly trained, very agreeable staff--they make and unmake a hotel. We loved our stay as we did last time we were there some years ago and plan to return for New Year's Eve. This hotel ranks with the Old Cataract in Aswan for overall quality and even excels it in many ways.

Smart skybar, but a confused hotel!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Stayed here as a family for the Vienna Christmas markets. We have Accor diamond status and used suite night upgrades for a soLofty suite. Bear in mind this room retails circa £700 per night to deiced a sense of value. There’s some really bad reviews on here regarding this property. It’s not a one star property as some state but certainly has its issues. POSITIVE The das loft skybar is superb for breakfast and evening drinks. Non residents queue outside at the weekend and have a separate elevator to access. I’m very pleased to say as residen5s on a Friday night a5 8pm we were given a table to use our welcome drinks vouchers. The vouchers were valid for any beverage. This was great. THE NOT SO GOOD. Despite emailing ahead, early check in was not available as they stated another VIP guest wanted a late check out. Understandable at a busy time of year but I’m sure the inventory is greater than 1 suite. The spa area was welcome after much walking around the city. The small pools were cool and not heated enough. The steam room was broken with a shower attachment ripped off the wall! Now for the room, I get the urban chic design idea, but it just doesn’t work. Concrete floors, monochrome colour throughout. Bathroom TV didn’t work, coffee machine leaked all over the floor. Chunks missing from furniture. The worst designed shower ever! Not a single ledge or shelf to place any toiletries. You either had to place the items in the floor or outside the shower cubicle. (Even the hotel amenities were placed outside the shower! What a stupid design! As many report - insufficient lighting. We did expect suites to be located on the higher floors, we were very low, but in hindsight this may have been intentional with children to keep away from the loud music noises from das loft bar. I come back to the cost, admittedly the weekend before Christmas, but it’s just not worth this price point. The property is in great need of a rethink and some TLC, with the exception of the impressive skybar.
