Reviews for Hotel Raito

Extremely disappointed in Hotel Raito

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Don’t stay here unless you want a view of a brick wall. This was supposed to be a 5 star hotel but it does not live up to the accommodations of any 5 star I’ve ever stayed at. I would give it a 2 or generous 3. They weren’t helpful when we discussed the situation with them.

AMAZING!!!

Amazing B&B!!! Daniela, was welcoming and accomodating! The room was excellent! We booked for 1 night but then came back for a second night! Location was spot on, at the end of the Amalfi Coast. We continued our drive on towards Sicily. Perfect halfway point...

An absolutely incredible experience, Hotel Raito is a great place to stay. We can't wait to go back!

I can't praise this hotel enough. My husband and I chose the Amalfi Coast as our honeymoon destination, and we knew that it was going to be amazing. Hotel Raito made it all the more special, to the point that we will be visiting again next year. Firstly the staff were very attentive, no request was too much. They were polite, knowledgeable and seemed genuinely interested in our experience of both the hotel and the location. The hotel itself is in a great location, with the main towns that make up the Amalfi Coast being easily accessible. It was clean, modern and spacious, and we had a great night's sleep in our comfortable room. The views from the balcony were breathtaking! We spent a whole day using the hotel pool, gym and spa facilities. For me, this is the most memorable part of the holiday. The pool was clean, well maintained and the views overlooking the ocean were spectacular! The pool bar was a lovely touch, we sipped cocktails as we gazed into the distance, taking in a panoramic view of the local town and the ocean. The gym wasn't the biggest, but we managed to get a good workout. The spa was just amazing! We both had a deep, relaxing massage, and the therapist was very skilled at what she was doing. We spent two hours using the spa facilities, with one hour being given free of charge! This was a touching and welcome gesture from the lovely lady at the spa reception. We then headed to the pizzeria, which served gluten free pizza! As someone with coeliac disease I found it great that they can cater to people with dietary needs. The pizza was fresh and delicious, and the food served in the Il Golfo restaurant was also fresh, delicious and served by the fabulous and attentive staff. The hotel offer a varied breakfast buffet, which set us up well for the long days that we spent exploring the Coast. There is something for everyone, cooked options, baked options, cereals, fresh fruit and juices, tea and coffee. Every member of staff is helpful and courteous, and the shuttle service was very convenient to use. Hotel Raito, a huge thank you to the whole team from both of us. You made our honeymoon even more special. We look forward to seeing you all again next year.

Good, bad and the ugly!!

Lovely view! Breakfast ok, But…………… From rude reception staff, extremely expensive food cooked raw, ants in the bed, bath disgustingly dirty, lift not working every day, broken air con, the electric going out and that’s just to name a few issues! We have not enjoyed our stay here and will not be returning!! Please avoid!!

Beautiful hotel, beautiful views and excellent service

We stayed here for 5 nights at end of August. The location / room: Hotel Raito is beautiful with a lovely reception/bar/restaurant area both indoors and out. We stayed in the side building which was accessible via a lift or steps up to the main level. Our room was lovely, ery comfortable and provided an amazing view of Vietri Sul Mare and the bay. Stunning sunsets! The Shuttle Bus: I agree with those saying it was not practical/safe to walk into town as the roads have no pavement (as with much of the rest of Italy) but despite the infrequent timings of the shuttle bus, we made good use of it and made sure we booked a place every morning. Also, although it wasn’t ‘advertised’ on their schedule, we were very grateful when we were told that the 9pm shuttle bus travelling into town would be happy to collect us on the return journey (as would the other times it visited town I expect) This meant that an extra ‘return’ time slot was available which proved very convenient. Although I understand people complaining about the seemingly odd timings of the shuttle bus, we never took it for granted - the hotel isn’t obliged to provide it and aren’t a taxi firm after all, so with just a little planning ahead, it can actually be a very helpful resource and save you taxi fares too of course. They were always on time and so it worked well for us anyway. Staff: From the moment we arrived to when we left, the staff were excellent. The receptionists were very welcoming and Ernesto was fabulous in carrying our cases to the room (and also manning the shuttle bus in the week). Another colleague whose name we didn’t get was kind enough to source a kettle and even tea bags for us - we know this isn’t something Italian hotels always provide so appreciated the help even more. We’d like to make special mention of Charlotte and Abramo at breakfast as they were especially friendly. Charlotte was relatively new but even so was a real sweetheart to speak to and always professional. We believe Abramo was the restaurant manager, and he was also very friendly and took time to share a joke with us and encourage us to try the cakes (which were delicious!). The food: We only had dinner at the hotel on the first night, but it was very nice. Yes a little more expensive than in town, and a la carte which isn’t for everyone but the standard was very high and the service was excellent. Not to mention the incredible view of course! The pool: This was a beautiful pool with plenty of sunbeds and a bar/pizzeria & grill alongside it. The staff were happy to deliver drinks to us at the sunbed which we appreciated. Local area: Vietri Sul Mare is a lovely little town, with some fabulous street restaurants and pizzerias. It’s also possible to use the local bus service down to the Lido, where there are more eateries and access to the ferry to the rest of the Amalfi coast. Ok, that bus service was a little delayed at times but again we couldn’t help feel this was the norm in all of Italy! We visited the area there on several days and got around ok anyway. I understand it’s possible to walk it from the piazza but I reckon this would be a twenty minute stretch and uphill in parts too…not what we wanted during the heatwave we had that week. We were lucky enough to witness the annual San Giovanni parade and we recommend a visit to the church too - so beautiful. Overall we were very very pleased with our stay in the wonderful (and not quite as busy with tourists as say Amalfi) place and would certainly happily return. Thank you to all at Hotel Raito.

Brand new and immaculate, the buffet breakfast was excellent, with plenty to chose from and it was very convenient to get to downtown Vietri.

My husband and I just returned home last week from Hotel Raito on the Amalfi Coast. We had a wonderful time with our friends at that amazing property! The people at the hotel could not be more hospitable. They voluntarily upgraded us, even though I am sure that their regular rooms would have been fabulous, too. We will highly recommend to everyone we know what a great experience we had. Thanks again for making our trip so memorable.
