The Best of Quebec

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

This is an excellent hotel. A great location and a fabulous staff. Everyone was thoughtful, kind and helpful. They made excellent recommendations for restaurants and made reservations for us. This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in anywhere.

Loud music issues!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

I would normally give a hotel like this a 4 star, but too many issues to justify that. On the positive the staff is wonderful and friendly. They do nighttime service with candy and fresh ice and water. We were unlucky enough to come during a punk rock festival and car show. We could hear the music booming into our room for 3 days and evenings. It really took away from our experience. I am not sure if the music is on a regular basis or not. When we arrived the heat and air did not work in our room nor did multiple lights. The maintenance gentleman mentioned they had lost all hot water that morning. After trying to get it to work, we were moved to another room. They proved luggage service for the move but not when we originally arrived. The room is rather dark with poor lighting and had no less than 14 switches to turn on various lights. Rather confusing when you are not familiar with a place. The water pressure was adequate, but not great. Overall, I think if you expect 5 star service you will be disappointed. The room comes with a large price tag but with the loud music, maintenance issues (they quickly tried to resolve), and confusing light set up our experience was a 3 star

Awesome Hotel

This hotel is wonderful and close to everything in Old Quebec. The lobby is well laid out and very relaxing. Our room was very spacious, the bed was super comfortable and the shower was fantastic. We really enjoyed the friendliness of the front desk team. Esther greeted us each day and took the time to recommended things to do, places to eat and generally was a great hotel ambassador. I highly recommend staying at this hotel!

Impressive!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

I give this hotel five stars in spite of the black ceilings and dimly lit rooms because the hospitality and comfort were so outstanding. Every employee that I encountered was friendly and welcoming. They took their mission to provide guests with a memorable stay very seriously. They even graciously put up with my attempts to use my rusty French! Our room was extremely clean, spacious, and very comfortably furnished. We were never bothered by outside sounds. The two large windows provided good light during the day. And that deep tub came in very handy to soak our weary muscles after climbing all those neighborhood hills and stairs all day! We ate in three restaurants adjacent to the hotel, and all were excellent. The hotel's very good continental breakfast was an extra expense; you can have it delivered to your room if you like. Back to the lighting: there were lights everywhere, but it was often confusing trying to figure out which switches controlled which light. The lights were very dim and almost all of the task lighting was not bright at all. But even so, the stay was one of the best I've had, and I appreciate the obvious efforts made by the staff.

Loved the location and ambience of our hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

Beautiful, quiet, boutique hotel - comfy king bed, great pillows, helpful staff, in room Nespresso maker and daily room delivery of ice and a carafe of water. Simple European style breakfast offerings (not included in room price) that we took advantage of every day! Nice location - 10-15 min walk from the train station - easy walk to many fun restaurants!
