Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii

We flew over to the Big Island for a 5k and for hiking through the volcano. This place is exceptional in every aspect. The room, the grounds, the housekeeping, the food, the easy parking, and OMG the location! We live on Maui, but the Big Island is our favorite place to visit. This is a wonderful place for weddings, honeymoons..you name it. The lagoon is perfect for a swim or snorkel and the pool is a nice set up as well. I’ll definitely be back.

Always so amazed at the level of service at the Fairmont. Our stay at the Fairmont was excellent as usual. They even took care of us on the day we were checking out and not registered to a room, by allowing us to shower in a spare room before going to catch our flight in the evening! Gorgeous scenery in and out of the resort, and just as amazing of a bartender by the beach! When you travel it's always about the people you meet. And Derek the bartender was one down to earth person that we'd seek him out for if ever we were to return to the Fairmont Orchid. Try and find this bandit if ever you go to the Fairmont Orchid!

You really can't go wrong with the Fairmont Orchid. It is a beautiful property with a wonderful staff! We had such an amazing time on our week long trip to the Big Island and the Fairmont Orchid really was the perfect setting. Beautiful scenery, rooms are FIVE stars and wonderfully updated, and staff is so warm and welcoming. -Very calm beach, great for kids! There are plenty of chairs for relaxing. We did a lot of snorkeling at other beaches, and this was definitely a good one to get started on with the calm protected bay. We saw 2 turtles snorkeling right off the hotel shore! -Pool is heated (not too warm), but also great for kids. We had so much beach time we never made it to the pools but only to stick our toes in -Free laundry on every other floor -Free parking -Easy access to shopping nearby. There is a large shopping complex nearby with an ABC store (I think it's named Queen's Island) that has great food options for on the go and great souvenirs to take home. -For us, it was a great central location for snorkeling at different beaches nearby. We also visited Hilo, Waimea, and VNP. Get a rental car! Thank you to the Fairmont Orchid for making our stay great. We hope to return in the near future!

Our third stay here, it's a place my family loves for relaxing. We really take advantage of what this resort offers - fitness center, spa, all the restaurants and bars, the concierge helped us arrange activities. As an Accor member, we appreciate the room upgrade. The rooms are large, spotless and luxurious, we love the amenities. This trip, they even put some workout clothes in the room for me!

Best hotel on the Big Island for friendly, professional service, location where the outside world does not intrude, and elegant accommodations that equal or surpass the other big name hotels on the Gold Coast. Restaurants have something for everyone, our daily favorite is the Halekai by the pool where you can dine with your feet in the sand. I could go on and on but no hotel is worth staying unless the support team is caring and competent. The staff & management at the Fairmont Orchid have never disappointed us and they actively seek to treat their guests as they would like to be treated. Big Mahalo to the team at Fairmont Orchid!
