Reviews for Mamaison Hotel Le Regina Warsaw

Royal and Luxurious

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The hotel on a quiet, narrow street has a quaint, boutique, and royal feel to it. The rooms are spotless, well appointed (including nice shower amenities, slippers, and a shoe horn along with free coffee, tea, and bottled water). The staff is fluent in English. Fluent. Not passable English. Fluent. I opted for the free breakfast, which may have affected my rate. I don’t know. The lox, Italian cold cuts, wide array of cheese, and hot foods offerings were great. The hit for me is the make your own juice juicer. About a $20 Uber ride from Chopin airport and within walking distance of some attractions, the overall value and comfort I received was superior.

How not to talk to your guests? The consequences of being insensitive?

I have been traveling to many countries in Europe for a long time. First of all, this was my first trip to Poland. After my business meetings in Germany, I checked the scores on Booking.com and made a reservation at this hotel. After a busy business trip and a busy journey, I checked in at the hotel around 12 at night. I also came to Poland for a business trip. Since I use cash, I made a reservation for this hotel through Booking.com using the pay at hotel option. I took out my Euro cash during check-in, but they said they could not accept payment in Euros. I told them that it was late and I had not yet been able to convert my money into Polish zlotys. They said that they could not accept Euro cash and that they would have to block 600 Euros on my credit card for my payment of approximately 300 Euros. I told them that my payment was normally 300 Euros and that I did not have that much money on my credit card. I said that I could leave my passport and 300 Euros as a deposit, but they still did not accept it. I said that it was late at night and that I was very tired. Since we could not solve the problem, I asked them to cancel the reservation and accept it free of charge. Because I wanted to go to another hotel and sleep. However, they said that they could not accept this and that they should ask their manager the next morning. I also told them to take the 300 Euros, exchange it and put it in your safe in the morning, but they still did not accept it. As a guest, I always offered a solution. Finally, we reached an agreement by saying that they could block 300 Euros in cash and a certain amount on my credit card. This situation upset me because I had chosen to be a guest here.. The next morning, before going to the interview, I went to the reception to get 300 Euros in cash. I was going to take this money, exchange it and make my payment. There were 3 people at the reception. I informed them of the situation. I was only expecting a little understanding and a smile from them. Maybe a little apology for the situation we experienced late at night... because I was hurt and tired. However, a lady at the reception spoke to me as if she was trying to teach me that I was in Poland and that every country had its own currency and that I could not pay in Euros in other countries. In this case, I really questioned how this hotel had reached this score. How could such a mentality be possible. You are in a European country, of course every country has its own currency. However, it provides services worldwide and not everyone may have been able to exchange their money at that time of night or may not have money on their credit card. You can also pay with Euros in hotels in many countries. In short, it was actually a smile and sincerity.. because I came to your home as a guest. It was my first experience in Poland. But it was not my first experience in many areas. I hope that you will be more understanding and helpful to your guests after me in such a crisis. It was a heartbreak.

Enjoyed our stay in this centrally located good hotel.

We stayed for three nights, for the Christmas markets and lights. We went as a group of eight and were all impressed and pleased with the hotel. The staff are helpful and professional and although we only stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, we really enjoyed the excellent breakfasts. Room was fine and WiFi worked well. The hotel is centrally located and close to bars and restaurants Recommend hotel

Very disappointing experience.

Very disappointed. Service and quality lacking. My bed was broken, missing caster. Shower grouting was black in places. Broken night shade. Higher priced room was bare bones. Unlike web site picture, no pictures, no rugs, no curtains. Dining room and common area closed one evening with no notice. They did not waive room service fee. The higher priced balcony room was on the top floor. The elevator only went to the floor below. We had to walk up with our luggage...not handicap friendly. When we went for checkout at 6AM, not only had our bill not been emailed to us, it was printed out, ready to go.

Stay if only for the breakfast.

Very nice hotel in a quiet street within easy walking distance to Warsaw Old Town and Castle district. We opted for a superior room which was a good size and had a large bed. I thought initially that the mattress would be too soft but it turned out to be be very comfortable. Plenty of pillows gave us plenty of options, always a good thing. Electrical sockets were everywhere including one in the safe!!! Bathroom was huge and well equipped with two sinks, a decent hairdryer and large mirror. Breakfast was quite simply, superb. The food on offer was just of a better quality than I have come to expect. I tried a couple of omelettes which were fantastic and even I without a sweet tooth indulged in mini chocolate eclairs. The coffee machine was high tech and easy to get wrong but nothing wrong with the coffee it produced. This will be my hotel of choice when I return to Warsaw, a city I thoroughly enjoyed.
