The Hay-Adams

This is a 5-star hotel with a quaint restaurant. The entire staff is helpful and friendly. Not everyone gets into the hotel without questions (for safety). The location in easy, close to fine restaurants and upscale shopping. The lobby area is extremely inviting.

I stayed at the Hay Adams with my husband, 2 kids and some extended family. The level of detail in everything they do is incredible. Every staff member is kind, helpful and gets to know you quickly! The waitstaff at breakfast knew my kids' orders after the first day, the doormen always greeted us with a smile and knew my kids' names. We eat breakfast there daily and while it is expensive, the food was wonderful. I had originally booked 1 room for our family of 4 but decided to get a connecting room for our kids and I am glad that I did - it would have been a bit tight in 1 room. The customer service is top notch and you will be spoiled after staying here! I cannot thank the entire staff enough for making our stay so memorable!

The hotel exudes old money luxury. It is small but the staff were kind and authentically friendly. The bathrooms were small and dated but overall, you could sense the bygone ambiance of the place. We had a lovely stay. The Lafayette restaurant is a must try and worth it.

The Hay Adams is a special hotel that we appreciated. Service is top notch, as they say the staff are the ongoing face of the hotel. The lobby is timeless and elegant. Upon returning to the hotel each day the doors were opened and a warm welcome back spoken by the doorman. The location is excellent, our room, although small, had a view of the North lawn of the White House. Each night we enjoyed cocktails in the “Off the Record” bar located in the hotel. Busy and vibrant scene is an understatement! Breakfast each morning was lovely with perfect service and delicious food. We will return to the Hay Adams, thank you for the hospitality!

Everything about the hotel is luxurious. Being that close to the white house and the elegance of the hotel is unmatched. Have stayed at similar hotels in DC but this is the absolutely most memorable. The other hotels were all 5 stars but they just aren’t the Hay Adams experience.
