Reviews for InterContinental Washington DC - The Wharf

Phenomenal service and hotel, The Intercontinental Wharf DC

We had a marvelous stay and experience at The Intercontinental Wharf DC. Our rooms are very spacious and clean. A very pleasant surprise is the bathroom which has a nook "powder area" with mirrors, and a chair and a shelf for cosmetics, etc. This feature is lovely! You get that extra corner space for anything such as beauty stuff, etc. We booked queen rooms with a nice corner view of the river and the next door apartment building. The beds are comfortable and there's ample desk space. Everything about the room was a delight, the roominess and cleanliness of the bedroom and bathroom! Wow! The toiletries are superb too, Byredon brand. The lobby offers a very pleasant atmosphere and an enjoyable area to hang out. An added bonus is their complimentary water bottles everyday of your stay. Their location cannot be beat too! There are many restaurants within very short walking distance. There's a CVS a stone's throw away which is also one of the stops for the Wharf's complimentary trolley to the National Mall (search for District Wharf). Kudos to the staff and the hotel's location management team. They are wonderful! Someone would greet us and ask how our stay is going and if we need anything they are ready to accommodate it. I appreciated that they showed no partiality. Special mention to their front desk team, Adeline, Melat, and Camille, also to their restaurant team at Willowsong, special mention; Jackie, Fernando, Sipan (I'm sorry if I mispelled his name). At their restaurant, my elderly parents would always have small random requests, and the staff would always happily oblige. Thanks also to their housekeeping staff who keeps the rooms and areas clean and to the door men too, such polite gentlemen. The hotel loaned us umbrellas to use during a rainy evening. Such an exemplary and phenomenal service! The Intercontinental Wharf DC is my only hotel choice at DC! Will definitely book again for our next holiday in DC. Please keep up your excellent work! Thank you for making our stay a lovely one!

Great hotel and great location, within minutes from everything. Uber rides are short to all the monuments and museums. King Room was nice had microwave, and small fridge. Coffee pot, and hair dryer. Bathroom shower is large. Overall a great stay!!

Willowsong-one of the best restaurants in DC!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We went to Willowsong to celebrate a big birthday. The chef is amazing—one of the most creative and delicious meals we’ve had in a long time. And the service from Rohat was outstanding. One of the best dinners we’ve had in a long time. Definitely check it out. We’ll be back!

INTERCONTINENTAL IS THE BEST!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The intercontinental hotel SHINES and is the premier place to stay in Washington DC. For years, I would treat my family to the Ritz Carlton…(not any more!) No doubt in my mind that the intercontinental is a true five star hotel… All the other others are at most four stars. From the moment you walk in I was greeted by KITANA, clearly a person with a professional background in the hotel industry. She treated my son with respect and a sincere, heartfelt welcome The rooms are incredibly clean. There’s no doubt I will stay in this hotel during my next visit to Washington.

Wonderful stay!

Arrived before check in time but was allocated a room immediately. Booked a premium room with river view and was not disappointed. Great view of Potomac River and Ronald Reagan airport. Great location with many restaurants in the area. Free shuttle bus two minutes walk from the hotel outside CVS. There is a Safeway opposite Waterfront station. Received a lovely bowl of fruits when we returned from a day out. Slippers were changed after a few days. Although room is quite spacious there was not enough storage space to put our clothes. Stayed for 14 nights and had to live out of our suitcases. Bathroom was spacious with a great shower. Amenity fee of $15 for mini bar and hotel bar. This is fine except that we had to call several times a day to get the mini bar restocked. Was also charged for Mini-Bar - Misc.-Adj of $4.80 on several days which front desk took off when informed them. Also charged for breakfast a few times when it was included in our room rate. Again this was taken off when informed the front desk. Coffee served in the morning in the lobby followed by hot cider which was a nice touch. After returning from a day out in the freezing cold was nice to have a hot cider. Big thanks to all the breakfast staff, bar staff, doorman but a special thanks to Adeline and Camille at front desk. Our flight was at 6.25pm and Adeline allowed us a late check out and assisted in arranging a cab to the airport.
