Kimpton Hotel Palomar Washington DC

Royal Sonesta DuPont Cir is a great hotel. I was slightly hesitant about making a reservation because of some of the previous reviews. However my experience was exceptional. Amazing large room, comfortable bed and all the staff I encountered were very welcoming and friendly. I appreciate the security swipe feature for the elevators and front doors later in the evenings. The only minor issue I encountered was the features of the television wouldn’t allow me to stream or access hotel services. Hotel bar was definitely a notch above standard hotel bar with great service, drinks and a decent selection of food.

Excellent service from start to finish. Dave allowed me to check in very early for a nominal charge, arranged for a down free hypoallergenic room, and the housekeeping staff made it happen in short order. The restaurant staff was kind and attentive and the doormen very friendly. The room was very spacious and immaculate. The best part was how comfortable the bed was. Slept soundly each night. I'll definitely book again.

The hotel was a traveler friendly location. Easy commuting options with the metro being so close (about 8 minutes away). I took a flight in from Dulles and was able to commute easily to the hotel with no issues. The staff at the hotel are friendly and inviting. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The area is what really shines with so many restaurants being nearby. Everthing was convenient.

This was the first hotel my wife and I went to in America. We are doing an America trip going to all the major cities. Excuse my errors since this is translated from French. The staff were nice and friendly. They used translation applications to help communicate with us. This was considerate given that we can not speak much English. The hotel is nice and the rooms are much larger than the ones in France. This caught us by surprise but in a good way. A great start to America!

After a 3-night stay, this would be my opinion of the hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly. After seeing me a few times they were able to identify me by name without even having to say my room number to check. I was really surprised by that level of service. As for the room, I had a Executive Studio room and it was spacious and clean but didn't really any view. Not an issue for me since I was going in and out of the room for business. The housekeeping staff cleaned my room everyday without needing to ask which is nice. Happy to see this hotel is back to pre-covid level of housekeeping. They made the bed, took out the trash, and replaced the towels and coffee station. The gym is on the 2nd floor and is usually not busy. Only one time when I went in the morning did I find another person using the gym. There are cold waters in a fridge and towels. I wasn't able to go to the on-site restaurant since my company was taking me out everyday but I will look into it the next time I come. This hotel will most likely be my hotel choice moving forward in DC.
