Immerse yourself in the rich history of our capital city by staying at the Morrison-Clark Historic Inn and Restaurant. Built during the civil war as two separate mansions, the Morrison-Clark homes typify the elegant charm of historic Washington DC. Lovingly restored, the homes retain their lofty, medallioned ceilings, Italian Carrera decorative-marble fireplaces, and exquisite, red-tiled Shanghai roofs. Steeped in tradition, but with all of the comforts of modern day amenities, a stay at the Morrison-Clark Historic Inn is a chance to experience the warmth of the past without surrendering the comforts of the present.

Fabulous hotel in Washington. Beautiful building combined with all the facilities you need for your stay and in an amazingly central spot. My room was well provisioned, with a nice wee view. It was quiet (despite the location). Staff were helpful and friendly. The restaurant was very nice, with a good menu and range of of foods. Would define stay again.

This hotel was absolutely beautiful - our room was stylishly decorated and a great size. This is easily the best place that I have stayed I. The DC area and I have stayed in many hotels. The service was also extremely friendly and professional. We will be back

Restaurant is a hidden gem! Charming and elegant ambiance, extraordinary menu choices (at all price points) creatively and beautifully presented! We had a lovely evening and all were delighted with their food—rack of lamb, chicken picatta, crab cakes, etc. Waiter (Omar) was especially helpful!

The Morrison-Clark is at least a half hour walk from the main sights on the mall. If that isn’t a problem for you, then the Morrison-Clark is an excellent choice for exploring the capital. For a nice big-city hotel, the price is quite reasonable. The decor, Asian-inspired, is pleasant. The facility is in good shape and clean. The bed was comfortable, the room ample, with a small desk and plenty of furniture for clothes. We were surprised how quiet the place was for an urban setting. The door staff were nice. Not everything was perfect, but not enough was wrong to reduce the score by a star. The water in the shower takes some minutes to get warm and the temperature then fluctuates. We also didn’t get an explanation of amenities that would’ve been helpful. The rooms don’t have coffee-makers, and we didn’t discover until we were on our way out to breakfast that the hotel provides coffee in the lobby for guests. The on-site restaurant, where we had breakfast, gets four stars. The food is good, if a touch overpriced for the quantity and quality. The service was cordial. The menu, while not extensive, had enough choices.

Fabulous! Make sure the location works for you. Attractions are 40 minutes walk, so you will need Ubers. Other than that, it's perfection and the staff is very friendly and helpful! Food in the restaurant is high quality and delicious. Surrounding area is safe. It's in the shopping district.
