To step inside our soaring entrance is to become a part of the past, present, and future of the Penn Quarter. Constructed in 1891 as a headquarters for Riggs National Bank, the landmark example of Richardson Romanesque architecture was known as the Bank of Presidents, and resides at the intersection not just of 9th and F Street, but of American history.

Riggs is in an old bank building and everything about it is unique. The staff here, particularly the doorman/bellman are very welcoming. It’s conveniently located next to the Capital One Arena, a few Metro stations and walking distance to the National Mall. Rooms are a nice size and also unique. Would stay here again and recommend.

Great location. Stylish comfortable room (I was upgraded). Bar had good atmosphere and breakfast and room service options were quality. Convenient walk to all the tourist attractions. Would definitely return on next trip to Washington DC

My family and I had an excellent stay here. The gym is nice, they have a huge gumball machine that is perfect if you are traveling with your kids. The bathrobe, slippers, tote bag, and umbrella are a nice addition to the stay. I also enjoyed the fact that they had a steamer instead of ironing board. If I had one complaint it would be the position of the TV to the bed in a double bed room. Due to the position of the TV, you don't get a good view. Overall, definitely will book again and highly recommend! A Very Special shoutout to Mr. DC, Diego, Nicolaus(Nikki), and Jalen for adding the extra special hospitality to our stay!!!

Fine upscale hotel in the heart of DC. Stayed as part of a tour group learning about the contributions of immigrants in the growth and building of Washington DC. The staff were excellent; very friendly, extremely attentive. The room was nicely appointed, but the bathroom was tiny, and awkward to get in and out of. A big detractor for the two of us. Breakfast was delicious, if a bit pricey. Did I mention the staff? Outstanding! They really made our stay enjoyable, especially Mr. DC. Always a smile and cordial greeting. Excellent coffee bar!
