Great hotel with helpful staff! I stay here every July and love how wonderful the location and people are here. I will say parking is not cheap but they’re pretty good about getting the car in time and taking care of it like Farhan S who was amazing! The rooms are very pretty although some are a little dated. The cleaning staff is absolutely wonderful and everything always looks clean and taken care of. The front desk was amazing too and the doorman just really are amazing! Breakfast was wonderful and the staff have been there for years and clearly care about your experience. This is a great hotel for families, couples, and groups of friends. An extra plus here is they’re dog friendly and have bowels and beds if you ask. Really love this hotel and look forward to returning again with my family!

I visited Salamander Washington D.C. for a solo birthday getaway to pamper myself. From the time I arrived to my unwanted departure, I was welcomed and greeted by the most hospitable hotel staff. Eskedar especially was extremely pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. Every request was met with great attention to detail and professionalism. My room was clean, phenomenally spacious and very well appointed. The large soaker tub was an absolute treat. The lovely bed and super luxurious pillows were exactly what I needed for a weekend of relaxation and renewal. Next time I will make a reservation for Dogon ahead time so that I won’t be limited to the Lounge menu even though short rib sliders and Hoe Crab were absolutely delicious. I am definitely looking forward to my next stay.

My wife and I checked into the Salamander and Eskedar was the most pleasant and accommodating host. Eskedar helped to accommodate my wife’s request and made her 40th Birthday experience an amazing one. I will surely make this Salamander hotel my home away from home.

Dōgon delivered on all fronts – the aesthetics and ambiance are impeccably curated. The atmosphere was modern and elevated, but all the while cozy. The food was outstanding, with each dish showcasing fresh ingredients, unique preparations, and of course nods to its African influences. What truly elevated our visit was the warm hospitality of the staff, especially our server, Tony, who went above and beyond to make my birthday experience memorable. I highly recommend!

The hotel was very welcoming upon arrival and my room was ready when promised. The furnishings in the room were very comfortable. My only concern was restaurants outside the hotel were a bit further walking than i would like but I did make it to the Wharf for a nice dinner and the hotel did have a shortcut to get there.

Not up to the standards of our stay at previously booked luxury link hotels. No in room coffee bar, no mini bar, blamed everything on Covid, and they were a new hotel, we would not stay there again. Definitely not 5 star, location good, no ice maker you had to call for it.
