Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square

The hotel was located near the White House, a quick Uber to the sights we wished to see. Hotel staff was friendly, check in easy. We dined one night at the hotel restaurant, Opaline and enjoyed the dinner there, plus we had breakfast in the breakfast cafe one morning and enjoyed the selection and the coffee. The room was nicely appointed and clean. The only negative about the room was the bed - the mattress was bit on the soft side. The valet parking, while convenient, was expensive but in line with the prices for the area at $75.00 per day. And the "Urban Experience Fee" of $30.00 per day seemed like a ruse to get more money from you. I would rather see a flat fee without the "bonus" added in.

Our stay at Sofitel was lovely. We were kindly greeted; our room was perfect, the morning coffee was delicious and the location was just right. Karla the GM does a fantastic job and it is clear by how well the hotel runs. It was very busy during our stay but all seem to go flawlessly. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The stay was with my 12 years old daughter in October 2024. This was our first visit to Washington. The hotel has a good size. Not to big, and not to small. The feeling in the hotel is nice and relaxed. Location is excellent, next to metro station and near the White House. Our stay was excellent from check-in to check-out. Reception is helpful and efficient. Nice with free coffee next to the reception in the morning. The breakfast is of really tasty and of good quality. Good way to be prepared for a full day of sightseeing. As the weather was good we had drinks and dinner served outside on the terrasse. The was delicious. I used the gym in the mornings. It´s small, but had the machines and equipment need to do cardio and strength training. We would like to come back again.

Location is great. We had a suite , layout was perfect, just the view was probably the worst of the hotel. Room service was great, manager helpful, and restaurant offered good food, we hate outside on terrace . Bed was confortebarble and tvs easy to operate , ( Netflix, Google etc)

Great location and the staff could not be more friendly or helpful. In door and outdoor street cafe/restaurant. The facilities were excellent and location was 500 metres from the White House and walking distance to all the museums and attractions. Put it simply a lovely place.
