Saddlebrook Resort Tampa

Great location, overall service was good. Property is dated, several things not working, staff struggled with # of events at same time. This place could be so much better if some time and $ was invested.

We went for a dance competition that was being held on site. First I will say the ballrooms are beautiful. That's where it ends. We show up and valet ($30 a day) insane but the other option is parking off site and being shuttled to the hotel. Then after checking in we learn that we have to be driven to our rooms by a golf cart that we had to wait for) Our first room was disgusting. Old and outdated (ok i can deal with that) but Dirty. I go to call the front desk and the phone is not working. I ask to upgrade to a suite and they did that free of charge. We go to the new room and its just as dirty, my friend then tells me she found bed bugs in her room so i quickly checked our beds (they were fine). But of course now I'm super grossed out. It was 11 pm by then and my son had to get up early for a dance convention so we stayed Friday night. Saturday after he competed we went to the one open restaurant in the hotel and they were super packed, 40 minutes to sit and 40 minutes for take away food. They were not equipped to handle such a large crown, the restaurant manager was rude and said I can make a reservation for the next day (when it was over) We quickly packed up and checked out. My son missed the second day of his event but there was no way I was staying. You are basically trapped there unless you feel like taking a two hour tour to get anything outside the resort. Coming into the resort Saturday morning was a 40 minute because there is a guard at the gate. Most kids were late for class. I did hear they are in the middle of a renovation but there is no way i would ever go back. They had the nerve charging $241 a night , plus valet cost plus resort fees for a roach and bed bug infested room. That being said the said aside from the check in woman when we got there and the restaurant manager were all awesome.

The grounds are nice but the buildings/rooms are VERY outdated. Tennis facility was great. Instructors were very good. Breakfast was awful. Buffet :-( continental had no protein (no yogurt or hard boiled eggs) had cheap bread and frozen bagels and awful choice of kids cereals. Full buffet $22 included cold scrambled eggs and a bucket of greasy sausage. So if you simply wanted a little protein before playiing tennis you had to buy the complete buffet for $22

Rooms need to be updated as they are very outdated. Having to get a ride back and forth is very inconvient. Valet should not be required for $30 and there should be self parking. My vehicle was damaged during they stay and the claim was rejected. I will not be coming back! Not worth the price!

Aaron was the best I’ve ever seen a hardworking man. Aaron was polite quick and present. Great workers you guys have bless. Would recommend coming back golf courses were amazing but man!!! Give it up for Aaron at the valet made my day man!!!!!
