The London West Hollywood is not a mere starlet among Los Angeles's many primped hotels, but a bona fide celebrity in its own right. Opened less than a year ago, this stylish retreat has already earned AAA Four-Diamond Award status as well as a coveted Michelin star rating for its eatery - Gordon Ramsay at The London. Of course, The London West Hollywood already has a loyal following of A-list movers and shakers. Located on the original long and winding road, Sunset Boulevard, the hotel boasts 200 spacious suites with open floor plans, sleek wet bars, private terraces, ambient lighting and some quirky perks, such as complimentary calls to London.

Amazing roof top pool with views of LA with plenty of cold water and sunscreen, welcome cocktail since our room wasn’t ready yet, gorgeous lobby, coffee in the room, fluffy towels, food fresh in hotel with nice presentation, great walkable location and lovely bathroom. Love the dog motive!

This once fabulous West Hollywood hotel, is now sadly a faded, scruffy and tired remnant of better days. This is reflected in the deals available to stay here. However, the staff are lovely and the buffet breakfast included in my rate pushed my review from a 3 to a 4.

The pool and rooms are great. Unfortunately, the service is lacking and I was surprised about the degree of snobbery, lack of care and the absence of kindness. I don’t know whether the hotel just didn’t think that me and my friend deserved good service because I did some guests receiving decent treatment, but I left disappointed and sad. Also, while there is a free breakfast, it is sub par. Half the toasters were broken and when I pointed it out to a staff member he snapped at me and told me they weren’t. Funny, because this morning another guest told me that he was confused about the quality of their equipment and food at breakfast. There are a ton of choices in West Hollywood, including the Edition and the Penney. For a more complete experience, I would recommend taking your business there.

My gf and I came to LA for a 4-day getaway. During our drive from Tahoe some of our belongings were stolen at a gas station. We called the hotel several times to let them know we would arrive late but planned to extend our reservation. When we arrived I was treated terribly by the front desk. The lady didn't smile and seemed annoyed that I was checking in. She repeatedly said I had to leave the room by 3 PM. She then said my card was declined and a manager came out to try my card again. They told me to call my bank, and after being on the phone for 10 minutes I was told that the charge was approved but the following 10 attempts weren't. When I walked back to the front desk the manager told me he had my cards and was trying to find me which made zero sense. I think they were busy with events that day and overbooked They were trying to get us out of there. They didn't care that we were exhausted after we went though a lot making it to the hotel. When I woke up from my nap I called the front desk and asked to speak to a manager. The plan was to extend my reservation to 3 more nights however, I was upset with my check-in experience. I expected the manager to call me and thought it would take a few minutes for him to rectify the situation. When he called me back he was very aggressive and said he had seen me with my dog (a certified service animal), that I would get charged $500 if I didn't leave by the checkout time, and said my card was declined and was only approved after the 10th attempt which makes zero sense whatsoever. I didn't even have a chance to let him know that I wanted to add 3 more nights. At 3 PM we started receiving multiple calls asking us to leave, then security came up with the manager to tell us to leave. At no point did a bellman come up to help us with the luggage, I had to go to the valet and ask one of them to go up to help my girlfriend. We left and ended up going to Casa Del Mar, a 5-star hotel in Santa Monica. The valet, and the front desk made us feel welcomed. They smiled, gave us water, apologized for what we had just gone through, and made us feel great. We ended up staying there for 4 nights The London Hotel is far behind on the level of service you'd expect from a 5 Hotel. I've had better service at a Hilton and the front desk staff should be ashamed of themselves.

The hotel, a corner of Britain (in keeping with its name) is a surprising find in that most American of cities, LA. There is a Union Jack fluttering on the property and a few strategically placed bulldog models (to highlight the "bulldog spirit"). The drive from LA airport (getting to a taxicab at LAX is among the most exasperating experience) is short and while there is little of Hollywood, the hotel has its charms. The terrace restaurant served up a perfectly serviceable lunch and I swam in the pool in the morning when it was mercifully empty. The concierge in the hotel could not have been more helpful, with tips on the best museums (Getty, free entry) and the best way to get there (Lyft/Uber). The breakfast, complimentary for some guests, was adequate and we found a nice Italian restaurant within walking distance to take the nephew out to, at night. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Nothing to fault the experience.
