Stayed over the weekend at this property. Perfect for visitors who need to spend time in downtown White Plains. Staff is warm and professional. Rooms are large and comfortable, but not high end luxurious. Starting prices are around $500, but deals are often available. 24 hour valet parking is right at front door.

Overall nice rooms and location but service is not great. The lobby ambiance is nice but the receptionist was not friendly and surly, not a great start to a stay. The room is spacious with a nice bathroom. I'd prefer a little more light in the room (it's quite dark at night, even with all the lights that I can find turned on). No bathrobe in the room - I had to call housekeeping to get one. Valet parking is available but they tell you to call 15 minutes ahead of time, which seems like a long time to get a car.

I stay at this hotel frequently. The staff is always really nice, and they have some truly stellar, longtime employees who I have gotten to know over the years. I’m very sad to see this hotel slipping. There isn’t enough staff, and you can see the quality just slipping away. Marriott needs to take a long look at what the owners have done to this hotel, while still charging top dollar. It’s a shame, and I truly hope they rectify. For example, our breakfast took 2 hours to arrive, because they had 1 person in the kitchen, the room is very skimpily stocked, lighting is poor, when I called to check on my breakfast the staff was so overwhelmed they just turned off my phone completely. Last time I was here in July, it took over 2 hours to check in because their systems were down. Internet service is awful. The independent brand seems to be trying to cut out any expense of actually running a hotel. Marriott, PLEASE look at this situation.

Positives: -- Upgraded to Premier room which was spacious and nicely appointed -- Convivial bar with lovely service, open late -- Very friendly service Negatives: -- Upgraded room had a view of a parking garage -- Room had an oddly-placed large pillar in the middle -- No light in the entrance way. The fixture was in the ceiling, but switch was covered over. I had to grope my way to the bathroom to find a light. -- Decorative stitching missing on duvet cover. Not a big deal, but highly visible, and says something about attention to detail. -- Bathrobes on request only (though I learned that bathrobes are automatically supplied to the suites). Odd for a hotel room at this price point. -- Strange empty shelf space in the bathroom. Clearly something used to be here. . . maybe the bathrobes? Note that hotel is valet parking only, and there is a fee for parking. I'll join in the chorus of complaints about these kind of fees. Overall, a very nice hotel, but I got the clear impression that it used to be nicer -- and certainly more attentive to details. Not a great vibe.

The room was very comfortable, we stayed here as a staycation as we saw it was advertised as such a place for this. We utilized the pool, which we felt needed some ambiance. Maybe some light music, nothing too loud nothing to extra. We did have a couple of drinks in Red Horse, and they were delicious and very well made. We decided not to return to this restaurant for dinner as the temperature was far too cold. One thing i did not like as the hotel was that the TV had multiple issues with it. One the volume did not go higher than 30 which made it hard to hear once the AC was on in the room. Another thing is that they advertise this hotel great for a staycation yet, the TV's in both rooms turn on at 9am. How am i supposed to sleep in? this woke us up as well as our little one. That was when we decided to cut our time here short and cancel our last night. Would i return? not sure, maybe in the cold wintertime to use the pool hoping they will heat the water.
