Like the rainbow-hued houses in Curaçao's UNESCO World Heritage site capital, Baoase Luxury Resort embraces color in its five-star villas and rooms. Rich wood and jewel-toned accents make the transition from the king-sized bedroom to an airy patio surrounded by lush botanical gardens, creating a sense of peaceful continuity.

I had the most relaxing and peaceful stay at Baoase Luxury Resort. From the moment we arrived, everything felt like a retreat for the soul. The resort is beautifully designed with a serene atmosphere throughout—what stood out most to me were the lovely Buddhist statues tucked around the property. They added such a calming energy to the whole place. The rooms were absolutely stunning—spacious, elegant, and perfectly maintained. It really felt like a home away from home, just more luxurious and tranquil. The food was another highlight. Every meal was delicious, but the Chef’s Dinners on Friday and Saturday were on a whole other level. Italian night and barbecue night were both incredible—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell they really care about the dining experience. Overall, it was a very relaxing trip. Beautiful surroundings, amazing food, peaceful vibes.

This resort is a quiet oasis and a great getaway for relaxation. We booked a Beachfront Pool Suite to celebrate my 40th birthday. We booked the all inclusive plan from Monday to Saturday. Our flight arrived mid afternoon. We highly recommend the airport transfer. It made it easy getting to the resort. The island was much more arid than I expected but beautiful! Our ride to the resort had an amazing view of Willemstad! Upon arrival the entrance immediately captured our attention. As the doors opened, several staff members greeted us and offered a damp towel to freshen up and took our luggage. A staff member provided us with a tour of the grounds. I loved the zen feel of the resort and the details really made the vibe. The banyan tree was beautiful and I loved the “first laid stone” sign (which just happened to be the date of my birthday 20 years ago!). We arrived a few minutes before our room was ready so we stopped off at the bar where we were given a “Welcome” drink. I believe the resort typically provides this immediately upon arrival but we had it while sitting at the bar awaiting the preparation of our room. There was some confusion about that when we ordered from the bartender. The room was amazing. It was one of my favorite rooms we have had on vacation. The bathroom and closet are nicely separated from the bed which provides an amazing view of the pool and outdoor oasis. The bed was very comfortable. Our patio had a “spa” with jets as part of the pool, but it was not heated like a hot tub. A nice touch was the Sonos sound system that played in the room and on the patio. We had a couple of issues with ours but the staff sent someone to fix it. You can select your own music from Spotify but some of the tracks would change before reaching the end of the song. I really liked the Baoase playlist (I even listened to a bit when we got home!) Since we arrived late afternoon we were tired from travel and decided to turn in early. The prospect of room service was appealing but when reviewing the a la carte menu, we did not find any option to be quick and easy so we opted to skip dinner that night. It was unclear if we could order from the bites menu which would have been perfect. Our particular room had a deck on the rocky area of the shore overlooking the ocean. Before turning in, I watched the sunset. I walked the grounds and it was peaceful and quiet in the evening. The next morning we woke early and had breakfast which begins at 7:00 am. The breakfast includes a buffet, which included pastries, fresh fruit, infused water, and mimosas. There was also a large selection of fresh juice. Other options on the menu include eggs, pancakes, crepes, and waffles. I ordered eggs most mornings but liked the pancake better than the waffle. The coffee drinks were on point but if you are looking for a smoothie, note there is an upcharge that is not part of the all inclusive. This came as a surprise since if I were to order a frozen alcoholic drink, it would be included as part of all inclusive. After breakfast we asked the staff to show us where we could relax on the beach. Having booked a Beachfront Suite, they walked us to the area on the right side of the beach. We ordered refreshments and relaxed. The cocktails AND mocktails were amazing! I even asked to add alcohol to a couple of the mocktails because they were so tasty. My only complaint on the drinks was that the martinis were not cold enough. I’m a big vodka martini drinker and the martinis were a bit warm for my taste. We later had massages in the massage cabana. We added the scalp treatment. I would not do the scalp treatment again but loved the relaxation massage. For dinner we had the five course meal without the wine pairing. I wish we would have done the wine pairing but it wasn’t clear what our options were even when we asked. When we were researching the resort, we did not find readily available information on it, but the five course meal has an upcharge even if you book the all inclusive. We later (on our fourth night, see below) ordered a la carte which had the same offerings so if you do not want to have the upcharge, you can order a la carte with most of the same offerings. The next day we went into town and the resort arranged our transportation. We walked around town for a few hours and the resort arranged a taxi to pick us up. I was able to communicate with the resort on transportation logistics on WhatsApp. The taxi driver did not notify us of his arrival but I would not attribute this to the resort. It was very hot walking around but I am glad we saw Willemstad. We stopped off at a small cafe for drinks and a quick snack. We wanted to eat lunch at the Old Market but arrived a bit too late and many of the options were heavy for such a hot day. We did however walk through. When we returned from town, we got ready for dinner. As a side note, the shower and bathtub are completely outdoors. The toilet is inside and separate from the rest of the suite. The tub is big enough for two and the shower is open. It’s private but you can hear others at times on their patio and smoking is allowed on the premises so on a couple of occasions, I could smell cigarette smoke while I was showering (also allowed on the beach). This wasn’t a dealbreaker for me, but made it difficult to have an evening bath for two. The resort offers themed dinners on the sunset deck. It was an amazing view. I recommend getting there right at 7:00 for one of the spots on the dock. On our third night we had the Indian dinner and it was my favorite dinner we had on the resort. Each dish was amazing. It was prix fixe but I liked each course equally and could not choose my favorite because everything was great. On our fourth day we didn’t leave the resort and spent the entire day relaxing. We sat on the dock on the left side of the beach which had several lizards and iguanas. Very cool, but be prepared for them to crawl all over your chair and even you! They would come over to us when we ordered lunch and munch on our plates when we were done. I recommended asking the beach butlers to come for your plates when you are finished eating. The bites menu was tasty. We loved the sticky buns. The nachos were surprisingly tasty too. We preferred the small bites over lunch at the restaurant because breakfast was so filling. The resort provides snorkeling equipment and kayaks. My husband snorkeled and saw a few fish and wildlife. The water was clear and quite chilly but so refreshing. When the sun was beginning to feel stronger, we decided to go back over to the right side of the beach where we sat the first day. We were approached by a beach butler and told we could not sit there. As you recall, earlier in my review we were escorted to the right side of the beach by the staff and told we were permitted to sit on the right side since we were staying in a Beachfront Suite. I explained this and the beach butler went into a long story about how the front desk continues to make this mistake. The irony of it all was that when we sat there the second day someone took our order and we provided a room number to the beach butler who did not say a word about our specific suite not being permitted to use the right side of the beach. I don’t mind that we weren’t permitted to sit on the right side of the beach but I did mind the beach butlers unnecessary explanation blaming the front desk. That isn’t the type of behavior I expect from a luxury resort. The logistics and communication could be better. The beach butler offered a “free” drink. Which was part of the all inclusive. The manager later offered champagne but we declined. This wasn’t enough to drop my review to four stars. Again, not a deal breaker. Just wish there was better communication throughout our time on the resort. We had the a la carte menu for dinner on day four. It was delicious and filling. We ordered some repeats from the five course tasting menu I described above. Some of our favorites were the tuna and ceviche. On our last full day we had another massage. This time we did the feet add on and I highly recommend it over the scalp treatment. Our first massage was in the afternoon so the spa staff seemed more prepared for us. In the morning, it felt like they needed more time to set up and get everything together. We had to spend a few minutes waiting for them to finish setting up upon arrival to the spa cabana. For that reason, I recommend a mid day or late afternoon massage. We attended the Italian dinner on the last night. The portions were large and it was very tasty. Since we wanted to try all the food we ordered the half portion entrees. We also were given a limoncello to try. The pasta and risotto were great I also like the tiramisu and fig pizza. The arugula salad was not my favorite. Unlike the Indian themed dinner, it was not prix fixe and you could choose from various offerings. My last note: if you’re coming here for a special occasion, you may have to arrange for something special. We did not do that and mentioned my birthday and there was no special dessert, drink, or mention of it. This was an amazing resort and we definitely enjoyed it.

We stayed at Baoase for eight nights in March 2025. This resort came highly recommended by our travel agent and had been on our travel bucket list for quite a while. I had high expectations going into this trip. (We stayed in the Superior Beachfront Pool Suite.) Baoase did not disappoint! The resort feels very tropical, almost Bali-like or Polynesian. It is so well done in every aspect. What we loved: the staff, the suite, the grounds, the beach/ocean-lagoon area, food, did I say the staff? The staff was wonderful. I read some reviews that expressed concerns about the staff not being friendly or attentive. I don’t get it. Standouts include: Kadeisha, Pablo and Midas but we were so absolutely impressed with everyone. They really did contribute to the pleasure of our stay. We did the all-inclusive plan, and the food was excellent. If there were not theme nights, the food would get monotonous, but with the theme nights, it was a very enjoyable experience. All meals did take a quite a bit of time, but I believe this is by design. Truly island time. They are not going to rush you. Dining is an experience there, and we thoroughly enjoyed every meal. Our suite was beautiful. We loved the view of the lagoon from our deck. The deck furniture was very comfortable. The room had two mini-splits, and we were able to always keep the room a comfortable temperature. The outdoor shower added to the tropical feel of the vacation. It’s part of the experience factor. The suite was beautifully decorated and well appointed. Housekeeping and turn down service were on point all week. We appreciated the Molton Brown products (shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, hand soap, etc). The beach area is so nice. The loungers are very comfortable, and the beach staff (beach butlers) are very responsive, friendly and professional. The water/lagoon is beautiful and easy to just float around and relax. I did take a hammock float with me, and I’d still be floating in that lagoon if I could be! You can snorkel in the lagoon area; it is okay, not great. I do understand that the beaches across the island have wonderful snorkeling. We did the west side island tour with Carlos. Highly recommend. Carlos is a hoot, and so knowledgeable. Wonderful host for your island! Baoase is everything we enjoy in a vacation – calm water, beautiful grounds, beautiful room, comfortable room, good food, top notch staff. I’d also like to add – my husband got sick our last day there. The resort staff ensured he had what he needed and that he was comfortable. They checked up on him, brought our meals to our room and were on standby to assist if needed to extend our stay. I appreciate them being proactive, attentive and kind. Being at Baoase is easy! We really look forward to returning one day.

This was by far the most luxurious resort I’ve ever visited. We were here for our honeymoon and it could not have been more perfect. We had a private plunge pool and beach. We had a private outdoor shower. The room was luxurious and the service was so attentive. The food was amazing as well. We had a beach picnic on the last night. It was heavenly! Can’t wait to come back!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Baoase. The resort is so beautifully located such that you feel tucked away but are close to everything. The service was terrific from our welcome, to arranging cabs, to meals and bar service at the beach. We enjoyed meals on property but with a more limited dinner menu, we chose to eat off property most nights. We did really enjoy the one specialty dinner night we did - Indian night on the Sunset Deck - and they beautifully accommodated one guest's food allergies with an entirely separate and delicious meal. Our three bedroom suite was beautiful and comfortable. It was a relaxing and rejuvenating week and we highly recommend Baose for it's relaxed luxury and friendly vibe.
