Buckland Manor

We had a really relaxing stay at Buckland Manor. The room was very comfortable and it was lovely to sit in the lounge with the open fire. The service was really excellent. The village of Buckland and the grounds of the hotel are beautiful; it's great to be so close to Broadway. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

A beautiful spot tucked away in a quiet corner a couple of miles from Broadway. Very welcoming, friendly and professional staff. Rooms very comfortable and food well prepared with fresh ingredients. Celebrated a friend’s special birthday. Our second visit and will certainly go again.

We have been staying at Buckland for over twenty years now, each time we come back it feels like Buckland Manor wraps its arms around us until we leave. We only had a nights stay last Friday this time, but we get so much out of it. wood panelling, open fires, flag stone flooring, cosy chairs and sofas make for a warming atmosphere. On arrival we were greeted by Hasini on reception, with a warm smile, she helped us in with all our luggage and offered us a warm drink in the lounge, which is new to Buckland. We had not met Tegan before either who is the restaurant manager. She was incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of her job and extremely helpful with a caring and warm Manner. Michal, who we have know for many years, welcomed us with a hug. He is so kind and professional with a wonderful sense of humour. Nothing is too much trouble, an asset to Buckland, all the staff are a fantastic team. Buckland has a new chef, his food was delicious…….too

We first stayed here at Christmas 2023. Despite dreadful plumbing in our bathroom which the hotel could not fix because it was Christmas, we decided to give them a second chance and decided to stay a few nights before going to a friends' wedding anniversary party nearby. All was well for the first couple of nights but on what was supposed to be our last night i, plus at least two other guests and two members of staff, suffered dreadful food poisoning. I was up all night throwing up and consequently was not well enough to go to the party or drive home forcing us to spend another night in the hotel. At the very least we expected not to be charged for the food or the extra night we were obliged to spend and any decent hotel would have offered compensation for causing us to miss the even we had been staying there for. But no - we were charged for the food, the extra night and no compensation. since April I have written to the hotel twice, the owners of the chain (Relais & Chateaux) and paid for a compensation company to follow up our claim. No replies and no compensation.
