Established in 1532 and masterfully restored in recent years, the Lygon Arms offers an unforgettable experience in the British Cotswolds. While this country hotel just two hours from London bespeaks the traditional, the luxury is pure 21st century. Every suite and room, boasting its own distinct character and views, radiates traditional country-house styleâ€"many adorned with fine antiques hundreds of years old. You'll also delight with the imaginative cuisine of Michelin two-starred chef Marin Blunos.

We went to The Grill for my birthday and the service, attention to detail, and beautiful food was 5*. Our waiter Valentino was awesome. Thanks for a memorable evening! The hotel itself is really charming with a relaxing vibe, great cocktails being served.

The food was excellent. That said, the rest of the three day experience was not! They were unable to rectify a problem with the TV aerial in the time we were there, despite an engineer supposedly having been called in. We were moved to another room while the repair didn't happen and then moved back to the original room despite no solution having been found. The manager's attitude .. well, he'd tried, so get on with it .. The room was akin to a dungeon (as were corridoors).. dark, painted a muddy grey green and with very little natural light. Sink was blocked, grubby finger marks around handles. Communal areas were cold and we had to keep our coats on at dinner. Very understaffed .. 15 - 20 minutes to have drinks order taken and another 15 - 20 minutes to get it brought to our table. Twice we were forgotten about. No bar service. No minibar. No fresh coffee in room. A couple of pleasant staff, but most showed us no smiles. Only redeeming aspects are architecture, village and wider Cottswolds surroundings.

The Lygon Arms is iconic Cotswolds, a charming rabbit-warren of old buildings. But our stay was a £428 one-night birthday treat and we were very disappointed. Yes, because I said it was a birthday treat there was a small box of chocs and a message waiting in the bedroom. No complaints about the room, which I think was a mid-price room. But the service was very poor, and so was the food. Apart from the porters, somehow all the staff are not having a good time: no smiles and warmth, no feeling that they are pleased to have you in their hotel. And the food: the breakfast menu was impressive but the tea and coffee took 20 mins to arrive; the scrambled egg with my salmon was nearly cold; and the bread beneath it soggy. Worst of all, delivered by a waiter who said nothing. Coffee in the lounge was only luke warm, and the waiter stone cold. We opted for the Tavern for dinner and really the menu choice, ambience and staff welcome was way inferior to (say) Cote, and my beef wasn't really hot, and the fish and chips wasn't as good as at (say) Bills. 'Luxurious' this hotel is not. Even the arrival is faulty - a good car park using the supplied postcode, but when you get out of the car no hotel is to be seen, no signs to welcome you and tell you where to head to: it's not clear which way to walk. Eventually someone showed us and it's a slightly dismal walk until you find their nicely landscaped terrace - but no idea which door is the way in! Not recommended. PS the Broadway Museum is excellent, very well curated and with a warm welcome!

We had been looking forward to the night out. Hotel is in a fantastic situation and is a stunning building at the front. Our room looked out over a flat rook with a massive kitchen extractor that worked from dawn to after dusk. When we checked in the heavy blinds were closed and we didn’t realise the situation until late at night when we didn’t want to complain. It certainly wasn’t worth the price we paid and spoiled our sleep. Absolutely no redeeming view to make the horrible aspect better. Our meal in the grill was nice but at £300 we didn’t expect it to be like being in a children’s play area. No disrespect to families but not at all what we had expected. But food was lovely so guess it’s the irritability of an older person writing this!! Breakfast was classy

We arrived between mealtimes, however they accommodated us. Because of the time, it was quiet. We sat in the corner by the fire. Our meals arrived in a reasonable time and hot. My husband had the sausage and mash, I had the chilli. We both really enjoyed our meals.

"My wife and I just returned from England. We purchased the Lygon Arms/Connaught package from Luxury Link.
I wanted to let you know that everything was provided as promised. Our suites at both the Lygon Arms and The Connaught were truly outstanding. In fact, our suite in London was perhaps one of the finest accommodations that we have ever experienced anywhere in the world."

"We just returned from our incredible Luxury Link stay at the Lygon Arms in Broadway, U.K. We were welcomed warmly, and our request for a room change to a new wing was handled expeditiously, the dining was very good, the staff helpful and gracious. We are eager to return!"
