Essque Zalu Zanzibar

Beautiful resort, very nice and comfortable bungalows that were kept very clean with luxury bath towels. The rooms were very tastefully decorated and large bed with mosquito nets. The staff all round are professional, helpful, engaging and accommodating. The pier needs an overhaul asap as it really is an eye sore Not much of a beach but free courtesy transport provided to Kindwe beach which was excellent With a little renovation work and attention to the Pier this would be a 5 star resort

We came here as part of our honeymoon and overall had a nice experience. We have traveled to dozens of all-inclusive resorts in the carribean, South America and Europe so our expectations were high. The staff went above and behind for us. The decor and effort they put into our room was remarkable. Rooms were cleaned daily. The resort was clean and well maintained. Beautiful landscaping and scenery throughout. The pool was beautiful and right next to the Indian Ocean. There was a pool bar close by for drinks. There were activities at the pool or around it throughout the day. Amil, one of the activity coordinators was very helpful. The food was very good. There were buffet options for breakfast and dinner. There was always a variety and they changed the options daily which was appreciated. They had a special dinner on Christmas Day which was phenomenal. They offer a dinner at the Jetty restaurant for a $25 per person fee. It is on a pier overlooking the water. The dinner and views were excellent. We explored outside the resort and always felt safe. The negatives - When we arrived, there was an issue with their system and what we paid for. We paid extra for “all inclusive” but for whatever reason, it did not show up that way in their system. After a day or two the situation was rectified but ensure you double check what you paid for if you stay at this resort. The food for lunch took a long time to come out. We waited over an hour one multiple occasions for our main course to come out. The WiFi is terrible. We brought this to their attention and they brought a router of sorts to our room which was very kind of them. Note for future travelers and this is of no fault of the resort itself - there are “beach boys” below the resort who will try to sell you goods, trips, etc. We know better but fell for a “sunset cruise”. Over 100 of us were stuffed on a rickety boat and taken off shore. It was the most miserable “excursion” we have ever been on. Muhamed is the main beach boy in the area and he is a liar and a scam artist. Be aware. Overall we had a really good experience and thank the staff for their effort and hospitality.

We had a wonderful stay at Essque Zalu! Warm reception, quality food, spacious and clean rooms and friendly staff. The Gala dinner was amazing we really enjoyed. The view at Jetty during sun set was amazing. The location is ideal just a minute walk to swim with turtles. We look forward to another stay

The area is refreshing and ambient,i also loved their rooms which a spacious and upto date.the customer service is top notch with good accommodating staffs.it’s perfect for both couples and family since they have kids play area which enables couples to have their time.

We come for a residential meeting, the stay was amazing from friendly and helpful staff, quality and variety food to enjoy, clean and spacious rooms not to forget how their pool is amazing. The only thing is their wifi connectivity, it kept on and off.
