We stayed in this beautiful hotel for 2 nights and having previously stayed here expected great things but we were sadly disappointed. I have never stayed in a hotel which limited your time to use the gym and spa facilities. You always expect to pay more for personal services however use of gym, pool, sauna should be included, should it not? A mere hour to use these facilities and then be expected to pay a further 37.5 Euro EACH to go over this time is in my mind ridiculous. Mr H and I were rudely ushered out after being in the gym for an hour and told “our hour was up” slightly humiliating and very unnecessary. We pay way over the odds prices for The Hague and this is the treatment! The air con in the room was non existent and we found breakfast was poorly lacking since our last visit… and again extra charges for eggs Benedict or any extra breakfast requests is not a 5 star experience, these should always come as standard when paying 5 star prices. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and most of the staff are helpful and polite however our experiences of what we felt were unnecessary charges left a bad taste and means we wouldn’t recommend.

In this five week trip we stayed in 21 hotels in 21 different places, and along with the Fährhaus in Koblenz and Martin’s Klooster in Leuven, this was our favorite. The location is perfect, in the embassy & palace district, but just five minutes walk from the shopping and dining action. A beautiful, historic, old four story building, we had suite 405 on the top floor. The bedroom/living area was a good size, beautifully furnished and with a very comfortable king-size bed. There is a decent size balcony looking over the adjacent park. The bathroom was also spacious. The buffet breakfast in the lovely dining room was excellent, but the real stars are all the staff who are just the right amount of friendly, ultra-efficient and very well trained - without exception. We would like to single out Savannah at reception and the concierge (whose name we have missed but he loves Alfa Romeos) who both went above and beyond to make our three day stay special.

Not only we had the pleasure to enjoy a marvellous high tea in Hotel Des Indes, also the staff entertained us with a bunch of interesting historic facts that are connected to this location. The aliment was outstanding, but combined with the ambiance made Hotel Des Indes a must visit landmark for retrophiliacs and connoisseurs alike.

When ever we arrive the front of house team rember our names, take care of bags, the car, sort drinks out and provide a relaxed sit down check in experience. The rooms are fabulous and full of history. Great location and we cant wait to be back in Jan 26.
