Inn by the Sea

Absolutey perfect. Worth every penny. Every detail is well thought out. The hotel is beautifully appointed, in a wonderful location, and the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. I can't wait to stay here again and bring back my family.

The beddings and linens were wonderful. The firepits ands beach access with icing on the cake. Outstanding staff. Room for improvement is in what they use to clean and the soaps and lotions in the room are filled with chemicals (ie fragrances) and made the room overpowering with in the soaps and dish soap

The Inn by the Sea is so beautiful that it is a must on everyone's travel list. The beauty of the inn, the grounds, the rooms are all gorgeous. The amenities, the staff, the restaurant, the bar area, the boardwalk to their private cove are totally amazing. The spa which I've been to before this visit is wonderful. I will continue to visit the Inn by the Sea. The prices are the best in the off season and that's when I usually go because they are quite expensive in the shoulder and high season but I'm sure worth it. The inn is a short drive to South Portland where there are more restaurants and to Portland for shops and restaurants. Very close to Portland Head Light also.

We have stayed many times and have always loved Inn by the Sea, which makes it all the more disappointing to share that this visit fell short of expectations. This was our first time traveling with our dog, and unfortunately, room 610 was in very poor condition. The shade on the front door had a noticeable tear, the small window shade was missing a piece, and the thermostat didn’t work properly, making for an uncomfortable stay. The dishwasher had a broken piece inside and was missing its front cover. We also found two blankets that were torn, and the sheets and bedding overall felt quite shabby. I was genuinely surprised and saddened, as this has never been my experience with your property — especially after seeing you recently received an award. If this is the standard for your pet-friendly accommodations, I would sadly reconsider traveling with my dog to your resort in the future. On a brighter note, the wonderful cleaner [ African American lady] was amazing and ray of sunshine in a disappointing stay. I hope you take this feedback to heart, as we truly do love your property and would like to continue visiting with the same confidence and comfort we’ve come to expect. \

Our suite was amazing and quiet. We loved the fireplace in the room. The Sea Glass restaurant was fantastic- yummy food, beautiful atmosphere and waitstaff unpretentious. Perfect combination. We will return especially in the off season!
