Reviews for HarbourView Inn

The best staff at a wonderful place to stay!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

This is my first night of a 5 night’s stay here and I am so VERY impressed with this hotel and their staff (especially Kierra, Collin and Kaitlyn) that I needed to write this review immediately and not wait until I checked out. I have stayed at 5 star resorts who could learn a few things from these wonderful people. I have never felt so cared for! It started immediately, as soon as I got out of the Uber and continued throughout the evening. I have been told by some that I am high maintenance, yet every request I made was greeted with a huge, SINCERE smile and done…immediately. For instance, I always have to request extra hangers and have never had them given to me so quickly in less than 5 minutes with a smile and “just let me know if you need more”…an extra glass of wine during their wine and cheese reception (and it’s GOOD wine!!). It would take way too long to continue to point out all the many little things they do…let me just say that I was tired and weary from a long day of travel and their kindness and caring gave me just what I needed to start my vacation on a much better note than I would have at any other place I have stayed in the past. So if you’re considering where to stay while in Charleston, I would highly recommend Harbour View Inn. All the extras they offer (wine and cheese…milk and cookies…breakfast served wherever your little heart desires) not to mention the cleanliness and location, the staff here is definitely the tipping point and as someone who has traveled a lot, that can make or break a vacation.

Comfortable hotel with a harbor view

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This hotel is located on the bay and has friendly and helpful staff. Towels and sheets were good quality and clean, as well as the room per ansemble. We had a 4th floor room, with a lovely view of the bay, so we enjoyed the sunrise. Breakfast offered has a few choices.

Amazing Hotel with Special Touches that Set it Apart from Others

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Where do I start!? This hotel was amazing, not too big, and full of charm which made us feel special and not like a number. The location is great, right by the harbor, and walkable to so many restaurants, historical spots, etc. There is a lot of construction across from the hotel but is seems to be interior to the buildings so it was not loud and didn't crowd the streets. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted with a smile by valet; note: it is valet only parking at $40/nt, similar to others I researched. We then proceeded up the curved staircase to the 2nd floor reception desk to check-in where we were met with smiles by all, so warm and welcoming. Check-in was quick and easy. Then on to our 2 queen historic wing room that is down a hallway right off reception but it feels like you are tucked away, so very convenient and was breathtaking upon opening the door. While this level may feel close to the street, it is not ground floor and we barely heard a thing even as the outside foot traffic increased into the weekend. The exposed brick wall, 14 ft ceilings, soft colors, cozy bed, and champagne on ice waiting for us were so lovely. The room was so clean - not a hair, or crumb, just spotless. Plenty of space with the desk and chair, large armoire enclosing the tv, drawers, safe, and 2 areas for hanging clothing, as well as the large nightstand, bistro seating, an upholstered chair, and two luggage racks. The bathroom was nice - vanity with one sink separated by door from the toilet and soaking tub/shower. The room is equipped with a white noise machine which I love, hairdryer, bathrobes, a few hangers (bring more if you have a lot to hang and can travel with them), ice bucket, clock/alarm, soft blankets draped across the foot of each bed, and toiletries in small bottles. I'm sure I'm missing something. What also really set the hotel itself apart were the included amenities such as breakfast delivered to your room, with a paper if you so choose, nightly 5-6pm wine and cheese reception (+ live music on Thurs and Sat), specialty cocktail, nightly 8-9pm milk and cookies, cold water bottles always available by reception, and a cozy rooftop terrace with gas firepits. I cannot say enough good things about our stay and want to especially thank Gabrielle, Melanie, Tess, Douglas, Colin, Aubrey, and Noah who were standouts throughout our stay. Everyone was lovely I just cannot remember all names!

Best accomodation in the French Quarter!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I'd never been to Charleston, and actually ended up staying at Harbourview Inn twice in two months - in December '24 with my Mom, and had so much fun I came back in Feb '25 with my partner. You can't beat this location and the view of the harbor (from the rooms that still have the good view due to new construction across the street). We loved the evening wine receptions and made numerous new friends. The staff is fantastic - great customer service by all! Thank you, we will be back!

Feels like a boutique hotel in Europe

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We thoroughly enjoyed the location, the friendly staff and the extra touches they offer. Rooms were comfortable and clean with a large and efficient armoire for storing your things. The included breakfast was surprisingly delicious that we had delivered to our room every morning. The wine and cheese reception had a nice selection of light food. Loved the views from rooftop! We would definitely stay here again.
