Wonderful Hotel and Location

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Palazza Niccolini al Duomo. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and our room was spectacular. The location is so perfect for seeing the city and a short walking distance from the train station. We would highly recommend this hotel!

Best in the City!!!

My wife, son and I stayed here for one night during spring break. I wish we could have stayed here longer. Beautiful place or should I say palace! We stayed in the Royal Deluxe Suite and enjoyed the spacious rooms. Great views of the Duomo out the windows. It's literally straight across the street with nothing blocking your view from top to bottom. Loved everything about the accommodations. Breakfast was the best we had on the entire trip. Staff was exceptional. They let us leave our bags at the hotel while we explored the city after check out. The train to the next destination didn't leave until mid afternoon so the temporary bag storage was great. Location is pretty central to all the attractions museums, restaurants, Ponte Vecchio and Santa Maria Novella train station. Maximum 5-10 minute walk to all attractions.

Charming, tucked-away escape in the middle of all the action

I loved my stay at this charming hotel. From the lovely service at the front desk to my large, comfortable room with a peek-a-boo view of the baptistry, every aspect of my stay was perfection. The Duomo area is very busy and a bit chaotic, but the hotel is tucked away just enough to avoid feeling the frenzy when walking out the front gates. A very nice breakfast is served in the small salon.

Absolute perfection

This hotel exceeded expectations. The room was beautiful, immaculate, and spacious. The hotel itself is right on the Duomo, but it is extremely quiet when you close the window. The staff is professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. I needed a bunch of travel stuff- some laundry, a good blow out (hair style), printouts…they had impeccable recommendations and immediate service. There is a lovely breakfast that we finally tried and kicked ourselves for not using more. The courtyard and sitting room are lovely if you want to spread out, and the charm of the historical building is balanced with luxurious touches in the room. It’s on a tight street and the staff is brilliant about managing the flow of people and luggage so that you feel like you are the only guests there. Seriously, skip the air bnb and stay here- we met the owner who is also the GM and you can really feel the attention to detail and expert hospitality. I would only ever stay here when I return to Florence.

A real gem.

I cannot recommend this hotel warmly enough. I say 'hotel', but in fact you will feel that you are staying as a personal guest of the Niccolini family. The Palazzo was originally built in the 16th century but was substantially rebuilt in the 18th. There is a large and beautiful main reception room where an excellent breakfast is served. The bedrooms are sensitively decorated and furnished in keeping with the style of the Palazzo, but with all modern conveniences. The owners have very skilfully updated the interior without spoiling its character. It could not be more central, with the Duomo just two minutes from the front door, yet it remains quiet and offers a peaceful refuge from the city. You can walk to most of the principal galleries and landmarks. We will certainly return.
