A group of girlfriends descended on the Inn at Occidental and we had a terrific two days. The new owners, Matt and Vicki were onsite, personable and made sure our visit was filled with unique experiences, personal touches and reservations at intown dining establishments. I was super impressed with how nice the accommodations were, the friendliness of the staff, the personal touches to make the stay memorable. Even down to picking a pink apple from their onsite tree. I hear they are offering a music series in September and am seriously thinking of visit again for one of those events. Highly recommend the Inn at Occidental. So much to enjoy at the Inn, so much to check out in town and the local area. Hiked a local fern and redwood grove and visited Freeman winery for a tour. Wow, wow, wow!

Occidental is a cute town and the Inn was perfect for our book club overnight. Matt and Vicky are the new owners and a joy to meet and talk with. They have a lot of energy and excitement for this Inn and it shows. The cottage was super comfortable and luxurious. The inn has a lovely patio to relax on and breakfast in the morning is a cozy, yummy affair complete with eggs cooked to your liking, maple flavored bacon, fruit, homemade granola etc. I will be back in September for the Sunday night Concert Series they will be hosting.

Our bookclub spent a staycation overnight at the Occidental Inn and had our book discussion in the lovely garden terrace. Several of us shared the cottage, while others had private rooms. It was a lovely experience - charming Inn with very friendly and attentive staff, a delicious breakfast, and great location walkable to several excellent restaurants and cute shops. Only a short drive to wineries, and hiking trails in the redwoods. The cottage we rented was great, with comfortable beds, an expansive dining room and family room and full kitchen. It was a short drive from Marin, but felt like we had a vacation in a small European villa. New owners are super friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend this jewel!

This is a charming historical Inn. That is it! There is "NO" Hospitality. This property is so over priced. Wish I would have read reviews before booking. Don't expect anything after booking and checking-in. Very sad that the owners are not welcoming to their guest. Nor do they compensate their guest for services promised in writing. The upkeep is lacking. So disappointed. Stay somewhere else.....

Conveniently located, well-maintained grounds and quaint lobby. Our room was average, nothing special however we had problems operating the blinds and the room had plumbing issues. Wine hour consisted of one option of a less than desirable white. Unfriendly staff and difficulty with having the inn hold our luggage for a few hours after check out which is generally a standard offering at most lodging facilities. Based on other reviews, perhaps these issues are related to new ownership. This place is quite pricey so I would have expected better service.
