Reviews for The Bellmoor Inn & Spa

Terrible guest service from the front desk

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We arrived after a long drive and there was nobody at the front desk to check in.   The gentleman eventually arrived and said he wasn't at the desk because he was busy "raiding the vending machine" - his exact words.  We had booked an extra night to arrive early and avoid the storm instead of canceling.  We asked if there was any possibility of reducing the amount of time we'd be displaced between checking out from our first reservation to checking in for the second reservation (such as a late checkout of the first room, early checkin for the second room, or combining the reservation).  The gentleman said there was nothing he could do.  He then said he would give us our room keys and then say his "shpeal" (again, his words).  Completely unprofessional and unhelpful.  On another occasion, the front desk was not staffed because he was busy watching the Olympics on the bar television.  Again, completely unprofessional and seemingly did not care about helping guests. When we checked out from our first reservation, we once again asked if anything could be done to minimize the amount of time we were displaced between room reservations.  The gentleman said there was nothing he could do, but said he would call us if our room was ready earlier than 3PM.   We sat in the lobby for HOURS watching other guests be checked in early for their reservations.  Nobody ever called us.  Finally, after two hours, my husband went and checked again and Bob said the room had been ready.  They had us waiting for HOURS for NO REASON.  Absolutely terrible service. So many other issues we don't know where to start.  We requested a room far away from the elevator and general noise.  We were placed in the Aspen suite directly in front of the elevator.  The hot tub was full of sand.  The first room we were placed in had stains on the carpet and paint chips on the wall.  There was no coffee in either thermos at peak breakfast hour.  3 out of the 5 warming trays on the breakfast buffet were empty.  We were sitting in the courtyard eating breakfast at a table outside (prior to 10:30 AM, while breakfast was still actively being served) and an employee got out a leaf blower and started blowing leaves and debris literally FOUR FEET AWAY from where we were eating.  Witnessed guests skimming the pool, wiping down their own tables and chairs to sit on.   I have worked in hospitality, specifically hotel/restaurant management, my entire career for over twenty years.  I understand that every place/employee can have an "off day."  But the absolute lack of care from multiple staff members (especially at the front desk - a position that has SO much impact on the guest experience) was truly disconcerting.  We have received excellent service from both the Avenue Inn and the new Coast Rehoboth Hotel.  We were sad to have this experience at the Bellmoor - we really wanted to love our stay and make it our go-to place when we visit Rehoboth (usually around twice a summer).   There were some bright spots to our stay.  The grounds and common areas are beautiful.  Jasmine,  Malena, and Bob were all very helpful and kind.   There was a tall gentleman who worked in the kitchen who went out of his way to help us.  We were very appreciative of their help and demeanor!

Wonderful Experience

The Bellmoor is a beautiful, unique property that is elegant and kid-friendly. The staff is friendly and helpful. We had a little trouble with wedding block reservations, but it was quickly forgotten during our awesome stay.

Anniversary weekend

We have stayed here before numerous times. The accommodations are very good and the staff is very friendly and a pleasure to deal with. We only had the one issue of a dirty shower as a negative on our trip.

Great long weekend stay!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The Bellmoor was a great place to stay for a long weekend in Rehoboth. Everyone is super nice and helpful. We took full advantage of the free breakfast and beach shuttle! The koi pond and courtyard offer a lovely “after beach” retreat to enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of tea. The Tesla chargers (2) in the parking garage was also an added bonus for us!

what a lovely Inn

This is a really nice spot. Original rooms have all been renovated and look charming. very nice lobby with rooms off to the side that beg to be sat in. Adult pool is very small and looks strange set on a huge patio. That's really the only knock.
