Reviews for Finca Rosa Blanca Coffee Plantation & Inn

Beautiful place, amazing people

It is difficult to overstate my affection for Finca Rosa Blanca. My wife and I have been there maybe a dozen times over the past 20 years and have come to know many of the staff (most have been there for years, which says a lot about the place). Most recently, we persuaded our friends to take over the entire hotel for four days to celebrate my birthday. The staff and my wife worked to arrange tours, a special dinner (every dish had a coffee element), and a happy hour. The team at Finca Rosa Blanca was unbelievably helpful. They rolled with our last-minute requests, meals that lasted several hours as people wandered in and out, and the randomness that comes with a bunch of people from all over the US and one foreign country showing up at all hours. Special credit goes to Edgardo and Jonathan, who helped cook up the idea and helped make it happen, and the guides Ulises and Cesar who were knowledgeable, passionate, and endlessly patient. The entire crew, from the restaurant and food manager (whose name I've forgotten - I'm terrible with names, very very good guy) - and who is is also a talented artist whose work is for sale on the property, to the waiters, bartenders, and staff, were fantastic. It's a beautiful place, but the people make it. The hotel is 30 minutes from the San Jose airport, could not be easier. A great place for a night or two on the way to or from the Nicoya Peninsula or other parts of the country Great for a long weekend There are no TVs. There is no room service or bar at the pool. This is a place to sit quietly, walk, and rest. Our favorite room is the Rosa Blanca suite (look online, it's better than the pictures). But the only shades are sheer. You will get up when the sun comes up. Take the early hours to have a cup of coffee on the patio because you aren't sleeping in if you're in that room. Other rooms have blackout shades, and we've stayed some of those, but if you go for the tower, know that you will be up at dawn.

Don't miss this lovely retreat!

Beautiful, very unique hotel nestled away on it's own coffee plantation. Our room, ElCielo was artistically decorated and VERY spacious, with a large jacuzzi tub tucked privately on our balcony overlooking the lush tropical grounds. The staff and service, food, cleanliness and grounds were amazing. The pool was beautiful, and we usually had it to ourselves! Definitely engage in the offered coffee and cultural tours- fantastic and informative. This is also a great place to stay, upon arrival or before departure from San Jose airport, as it is only about 40 minutes away.

Perfect for relaxing before long flight hom

We only had one day and night at this wonderful place as the end of our Costa Rica adventure, but it was wonderful for the short time we were there. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the view was amazing. And we had to leave at 3am for our flight, but they kindly prepared us a little to go breakfast. Wonderful service.

Very nice smaller hotel with a beautiful location and excellent service. We had a short overnight stay but found the property very quiet, pleasant and full of very beautiful trees and small trails. Food at the restaurant was excellent and service outstanding—very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast and dinner options.

Good start to Costa Rica

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We stayed in a junior suite, for 2 nights at the start of our holiday in Costa Rica and were so pleased we chosen to stay here rather than San Jose. We had a lovely welcome and were shown to our room... After a long flight from the UK a margarita at the bar was perfect before enjoying dinner in the open restaurant and settling down for a good nights sleep. Breakfast was also a delight and great that it was a la carte and not a buffet. We went on the coffee tour which was very good, there were only 6 of us so plenty of opportunity to see all that the grounds had to offer. Our guide was excellent and clearly passionate about coffee. The atmosphere at the hotel is homely and welcoming and there are plenty of quiet communal areas to relax. The pool has a lovely view over the city but it feels a little unloved, there are no lounger cushions and there is no service for drinks snacks etc. We headed off after 2 nights, excited for all that Costa Rica has to offer.

Our trip to Costa Rica was especially memorable - Finca Rosa Blanca was beautiful. The perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful interior of Costa Rica. The food was outstanding, and it was wonderful to dine and meet the other people who were staying there. The guest rooms and pool were also very welcoming and comfortable. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Finca Rosa Blanca.

Our first trip to Costa Rica was to the magnificent, elegant property called Finca Rosa Blanca. We were given great attention by their lovely staff, enjoyed organic and fresh cuisine by their on-site chef and relaxed on the grounds of an amazingly lush gated property. We were so taken with the experience that we purchased the same trip to return the following year!

We stayed in Costa Rica at Finca Rosa Blanca, and the experience provided us with a top-notch hotel room, unique and elegant, with added benefits like spa treatments, horseback riding, dinners with wine and so much more. With the quality of the facilities and the courtesy of the staff, every effort was always made to welcome us.

My brother and I had the pleasure of staying at Finca Rosa Blanca Country Inn in May. From the moment we stepped on the property we were treated not only as guest of the hotel, but also as a part of the Finca family. Our every need was addressed or taken care of with exemplary service. The room was very clean and the food was absolutely delectable. I plan to visit this resort again and again and again. We had a WONDERFUL time. From now on, I will utilize Luxury Link to make all of my travel arrangements. This visit proved that they recommend only the BEST!
