The hotel was in a convenient location for us to visit Wineries in Dry Creek and Alexander Valley. The hotel consists of spread out little buildings with nice gardens and a wine country feel. We stayed in a new building and it was very nice, with a huge bathroom and very comfortable bed. Nice products, a free half bottle of wine and some other beverages provided. While we were there, so pool and hot tub were closed for renovation as were some other areas, which was disappointing. I guess there is a hot tub indoors that you have to book. Also, the resort is very close to the freeway and it's audible when outdoors. The room was very quiet. We ate at the John Ash & Co restaurant which was delicious. We sat in an (enclosed outdoor) area that was a little cold, despite a heater. The staff was very nice and I highly recommend the Truffle Gnocchi. Breakfast was below average and the $8 tiny cappuccino and single shot latte seemed outrages. I got a "basked" of pastries for $13 that had 5 miniature pastries. While we enjoyed our stay, we likely won't be back. We felt the resort lacked athmosphere.

Beautiful property, service is hit and miss

I was very pleased with the call ahead of my arrival! I explained that I was using crutches after surgery and the gentleman upgraded my reservation to a suite since there are no elevators on property and the room I booked would have been upstairs. This was stellar and I'm so appreciative! Five star service right there! We arrived early at 3pm (I had requested 4pm) and our room wasn't ready until 5pm. Not so stellar. We had an unfortunate event of two blackberry drinks spilling on my brother-in-law at dinner (the server was horrified and handled himself professionally.) The GM came by, apologized, said he wanted to comp drinks or dessert in addition to cleaning the jacket. He did not comp drinks or dessert (at least not on the bill we signed.) Not necessary but also not stellar. When we checked out, the young gentleman (who said he was less that a week on the job) told me that he would send the folio as soon as a manager checked out a credit of ~$40. I wonder if this is a credit that was promised to us at dinner after the blackberry incident. Don't know because I still have not received my final bill. I tried using the Contact Us link on the website but it keeps throwing errors. I really want to love this place! The prices are high and I would expect a higher level of service. I'm guessing they'll get there, but they were off their game this weekend.

Great resort very central location. The food was great and the service at the hotel as well as the restaurant were top notch. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for something more than your standard accommodations.

Too expensive for outdated room and $45 daily resort fee without a pool

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

We booked a vineyard view room at a higher price, but when I checked in and went to my room it didn’t have one. I phoned the front desk and was told they upgraded my room, but this room had a lot of issues. One, it was not far from the pool which is under construction and there was constant beeping from heavy equipment. Other issues were that the AC didn’t work; I set it to 68 (it would not set lower) and the temperature of the room never went below 72. Furniture was dated and the top of the bench in front of the bed was peeling. The coffee maker didn’t work and one of the lights in the bathroom was out. Also, they charge a $45 resort fee and the pool wasn’t even available. The staff was nice, but $650 a night for this was way too high. I like the area, but will look for a better place next time we visit.

My husband and I went on our first roadtrip together to Vintner's Inn in Santa Rosa, California. The second time my husband and I went to Vintner's Inn it meant so much to us how everyone remembered us by name. This will be our third time going back to visit all the familiar faces at Vintner's Inn that make us feel right at home. It has now become a yearly tradition for us.
