Fires caused cancel but Quail said NO!
I never made it to the lodge but had reservations. LA burned and I needed to cancel my trip. I called 30 + days in advance and they refused to credit my stay of $3000++. I was shocked beyond belief with the notice I gave and the situation that had occured that the lodge refused to extend credit for my pre-paid stay. I am working with my credit card to get a refund but I consider this very poor behaviour by a hospitality company!

Fantastic 55th year Anniverary
We had a fantastic two-night midweek stay to celebrate our 55 year anniversary. Our sons gave us the stay as a gift since they knew we had our honeymoon all those years ago in Carmel. Everyone on the staff treated us very well. They thoughtfully upgraded us to a bungalow beside the lake that had a nice private patio featuring a lovely view and appealing water sounds. Our room was excellent with an extremely comfortable king bed featuring a soft down comforter, natural slate flooring and shower, high quality cabinets, designer furniture, vaulted ceiling, and more. The restaurant served wonderful breakfasts while providing a beautiful lake view. There were many more resort features that we did not take advantage of, (but certainly will at our next stay) such as the pool, fire pits in various places, three exercise rooms, e-bikes, putting tees, and more. We strongly recommend The Quail Lodge. While only a ten minute drive to Carmel plus a little more to Pacific Grove and Monterey, it offers better weather, open space, and an appealing resort layout. We definitely plan to return.

A stunning & friendly sanctuary!
Our stay at Quail Lodge was the most serene and peaceful experience that we've had, anywhere! Everyone at the property was incredibly friendly and hospitable - it was so clear that the everyone genuinely cared about our experience from start to finish. I'd like to give a heartfelt shoutout to Jami (the Guest Services Manager) who was so warm, genuine, friendly, and professional! She communicated with me for several weeks prior to our arrival to ensure my family had everything we needed, and was so patient as we had to make some modifications to all of our reservations. She cares so deeply about the experiences she curates, and truly went above and beyond to personalize this trip. This was a family reunion (the first in so many years) - and anyone who has ever planned a family event knows how topsy-turvy things can get trying to coordinate with everyone's schedules and needs. She even welcomed us with a handwritten note and welcome amenities. I don't think she realizes just how impactful her kindness and hospitality was for my entire family - thank you so much Jami! We will be returning forever because of Jami! I wanted to also recognize Kat (from the Front Desk) who was so cheerful, patient and welcoming after our very loooong drive upon our arrival. The Covey Deck team really went above and beyond too. We went to enjoy breakfast outside on a particularly cold morning, and they were so quick to welcome us into restaurant so we wouldn't be freezing. The landscaping team always inquired if we were enjoying our stay anytime we saw them - it seemed as though everyone cared so deeply. Every inch of the property and room was immaculate and reflected the same level of attention to detail as the service levels. I left feeling renewed and inspired thanks to the team at Quail Lodge. Thank you so much for making this trip so special for my family.

Beautiful grounds, clean comfortable rooms and fun for our family
We have stayed here several times as a family but also just as a couple and always love being here..staff was very professional and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We especially like walking the grounds and playing the 9 hole putt putt around the property which is complementary. The Covey Grill surprised us with how delicious everything was and the service was excellent. The pool is small with no hot tub but was made up for by the beautiful surroundings. We tried the e-bike but it was too large for my daughter and I, it needed adjustment and we didn't have the time. Overall thought we felt the experience was exactly what we expected and left wishing we had another day.

Highly Recommended!
Beatriz, our receptionist, upgraded us to a marvelous room that we thoroughly enjoyed over the Christmas holiday. Bless her. Placed by the pond and with views of the greens outside our window, we couldn’t have chosen a better stay. We’d recommend reservations for dining; the food was excellent. This will be our go-to staycation for the future. Carmel is a quaint and throughly enjoyable area. We highly recommend this place for couples and families.
