TL:DR - An under invested, under staffed, under updated property relying on their isolation, reputation and staggering grounds to justify their continued relevancy. The grounds/pool are a nice to have, but if I ever come back up here I will look for an actually maintained VRBO vs. staying at this relic. Context: My wife and I and our two kids, 6 and 5, two night stay February 16-18. Cons - The moment I walked up to the bar to order lunch, two of the patrons already there immediately said "strap in for a wait, there's only one bartender... like always." This set the theme for staffing for the trip. This sucks, because the people work hard... there just isn't enough of them. - The rooms are well floor planned but hopelessly outdated. - First night in, the TV's weren't working --- which honestly makes sense because the program they use looks straight out of 1986. What, you DON'T want to buy the Super Mario Brothers movie for $20.95? You'd rather use your own streaming services like you can at virtually every other hotel? Well, that's not how we roll here. - They left a little quilt at the foot of our bed that was basically covered in food. Not ideal, and again, thematic. - The restaurant isn't fantastic (but the burger is solid - that's kind of about it) - and the room service is worse. The room service menu is literally 10 items or so... and due to the isolated location your door dash/uber eats options are basically limited to fast food. - The 'Glice' rink... NOT ice skating. I've never heard of the concept of ice skating where you can't use the edge of your skates. Maybe the biggest money grab I've ever seen at a resort - and let's be honest that's saying something. Pros - The pool complex (indoor/outdoor hot tub + indoor/outdoor pool + two water slides) were an absolute hit with our kids... Me in my diva 40's thought the indoor pool was a little chilly. - The sledding hill (repurpose of the driving range in the winter) was a hit, but to be clear you don't need to stay at the lodge to access/use - The staff tries hard, particularly the valets - The Wi-Fi works well - The views from the room in the winter really are fantastic. - Downtown Cle Elum really is a gem. If you do make the trip here, I would have my lunches and dinners in town.

Woody is the best bus driver!! 10/10 for the shuttles here. He picked us up after yoga, blasted Taylor Swift for us, and held us down a snowy driveway. So kind, funny and a good time. He also picked us up after his shift was over to make sure we got to dinner on time.

Beautiful setting… cozy bed… mesmerizing aesthetics… delicious food… what else can you ask for. Wife took me out for my birthday and it has been eventful. So much things to do. Woody, our shuttle driver was the best! Must do things: - Spa - Snow tubing - great food - a lot of snow activities

Brian was an absolute joy as our bus driver! He made the whole experience so much more fun with his positive energy and great attitude. His professionalism and friendliness really stood out, and I could tell he genuinely cares about making the ride enjoyable for everyone. I’d highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great ride experience!

The thing that really bothers me and the only reason I'm writing this review is because I foolishly left 3 shirts hanging in the closet. I realized this 45 minutes after leaving and called the hotel. They said they'd look and to fill out an online form. A week later of calling/emailing and they don't have them. We actually checked out before our check-out time so the hotel could have sent someone up to get them before the cleaning crew took them. The shirts had sentimental value to me as well. The Lost and Found team were NO help at all. I've accidentally left things in what would probably be considered worse hotels and I've never had a problem getting them back. These were just hanging in the closet. The tvs only get very limited local TV and it's $20+ to stream anything from the very sparce selection they offer. The heated pool was cold and there was ice all around it. You'd think they would put salt down at the very least but no. I slipped getting out. They allow dogs which is great but they also have s'mores making kits out and bunch of kids running around just leaving chocolate everywhere. I had to be especially watchful for that. 2 elevators but only one worked. And they are slow. The bellhops and valets are good. The front desk staff are nice and if you want ice they'll get it for you. If you have a mountain view it's pretty.
