Whiteface Lodge

This was our second trip to the Whiteface Lodge and I have to say we were disappointed this trip. To start, because of the no cancelation policy we had to make a decision Friday night between losing a night at $1500 or driving in a blizzard to get there. We had a blast on Saturday, but a few things just made us feel like it wasn't worth the cost. The biggest issue was there was a wedding there Saturday night, and parking was a nightmare. We had planned on eating at the restaurant onsite and not having to leave the lodge, but opentable said there were no tables available all night (we assume because of the wedding). So we had to venture out in -5 degree temperatures. When we got back, there was a very long line for the valet so we tried to park the car ourselves. Eventually we found a spot along the road, which wasn't ideal. When we went to move the car later in the night to the parking lot someone else had parked right up against the car so we were essentially blocked in. We did notify the hotel of the issues, and while everyone was very nice to apologize, that was about it. I think for the amount of money the resort costs, to have a parking hassle and not being able to eat at the resort just made it feel like it wasn't worth it. Unfortunately, after being there twice in a year, I don't know that we would return.

We couldn’t be happier with the lodge. It’s a spectacular place to enjoy Lake Placid. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We never treated ourselves to such luxury before. What a treat! Our 3 grandkids loved every second of our 3 day stay. There is a ton of things to do right at the lodge. There is a nice bar staffed by friendly people named Jenn and Mariah. It was a great place to escape to when the kids napped.

Great weekend away, beautiful late fall setting. The lodge is a perfect place to base your activities out of. Unique experience to stay in big lodge, with so much attention to detail. Loved the fireplaces everywhere, including in the room. Staff all top notch.

Heated tiles, jet tub, a fireplace on cold rainy evenings and a game room to sharpen my billiards skills! An amazing stay at this beautiful Adirondack resort. Always greeted with smiles and kind words from the staff. This was a wonderful experience that set the bar very high!

The staff are exceptional. Michael Coon helped us with a Board meeting from our unit on zoom meeting. The link up to the TV was flawless. He even called the morning of the meeting to ensure we were all set. Alyssa DeVito provided a facial that was relaxing and informative about skin care.
